Through the generosity of long-time OACETT member and philanthropist Farsad Kiani, C.E.T., Fellow OACETT and the Kiani Foundation, the Fletcher Foundation administers the Kiani Foundation Engineering Technology Endowment, which funds an annual $1,000 bursary to support individuals with demonstrated financial need who have applied to or enrolled full-time in an engineering or applied science technology program at a public Ontario college. Preference will be given to applicants from under-represented populations within engineering and applied science technology (e.g. Indigenous people, women, persons with disabilities)
Eligibility
In order to be eligible, the applicant must:
1. Submit proof of their application to an engineering or applied science technology program at a public Ontario college or their Confirmation of Registration document from the college they are currently enrolled at as a full-time student.
2. Please provide demonstration of financial need.
3. Completion of a maximum 500 word essay or up to 5 minute video, describing why they want to pursue the field of study and how the bursary will help.
Selection Process
Submission must be received by the Fletcher Foundation secretary no later than Wednesday, April 30, 2025. All submissions will be coded and the recipients will be chosen by random draw from among those who meet the eligibility criteria. Only complete applications will be considered. The bursary will be made available in time for the start of the fall semester.
