District Women's Retreat

Aging is unavoidable unless we die early. Life long growth—the nurturing of aliveness and authentic maturity, requires intention and at its best, spiritual practices that enhance connection, emotional wisdom, and skillful living and dying. This retreat will be an overview of the journey of life and an invitation to see your life as a meaningful pilgrimage that can be enhanced through awareness and skillful spiritual practices. Rita Berglund is a 66 year old pilgrim with a very light backpack and a very full heart. Life experiences including growing up on a farm, marrying, raising two amazing humans - a son who died at 24 after 20 years battling brain cancer and a daughter who became a friend and partner bringing along her own family and making her the proud Oma of two grandchildren. Professionally she is a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice and spiritual director. Along with her husband Brad, she additionally serves as a pilgrimage guide in Ireland, France, Italy, Scotland, Spain, and the Republic of Georgia for Illuminated Journeys. In the past she has also served as adjunct faculty for Iliff School of Theology, Naropa University, and the Benet Hill Spiritual Formation Program.
