Employment Application
All camps require unique skills of its staff. Following is some important information to consider, helping you decide if the Eagle Journeys camping program is an appropriate place for you to devote your time and energy. Discuss this decision with important people in your life. Being camp staff is a commitment, and it is important to make sure that the commitment is a good fit for you.
Can you take the time to make a difference?
Time commitments for camp staff are as follows:
Eagles Nest Family Camp and Camp Bold Eagle - Teen - Camp orientation begins June 22 and camp ends July 5
*Eagles Nest Family Camp and Teen Camp will be available to apply for TOGETHER only.*
Camp Bold Eagle staff - sessions 1 & 2 - orientation begins July 9 and camp ends July 26
Eagle Outpost staff - orientation begins August 2 and camp ends August 9
Since you are inquiring about a staff position, you have a caring and compassionate nature. Some camp positions, particularly program staff positions, require a significant commitment outside of camp. Sometimes staff with good intentions and great ideas are simply too busy to follow through on their commitment. This can result in disappointed campers. With this in mind, we are counting on you to follow through with the commitment you make to the camp in addition to the other commitments in your life. Camp staff are also required to attend virtual planning calls. Calls will take place weekly starting on Monday, April 7 at 7 PM. Subsequent meetings will be scheduled based on staff availabilities. Please consider this carefully before you apply.
Can you "go with the flow"?
The physical environment in which we live at camp is different than what we are used to in our everyday lives. In addition to the uniqueness of the physical environment, we continually challenge camp staff to reach new heights of personal growth that will help them lead campers to the best possible camp experience. Though this unique environment can be challenging, it is part of what makes it such a rewarding experience for staff.
Can you "go the extra mile?"
We strive to make camp a life-enriching experience for all who attend, campers and staff alike. We strongly urge staff to spend time before camp honing their counseling skills by learning new camp songs, child management techniques, leadership skills, and technical skills. To what length are you willing to go in order to be the best camp counselor or staff person that you can be?
Thanks for considering these important questions! Every staff person is important to the mission of Camp Bold Eagle and Eagle Outpost, and the campers rely on you for this extraordinary experience. If, after answering these questions, camp is a good fit for you, it promises to be an equally life-enriching and rewarding experience.
