Please read the entire document before applying to be a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) at camp this summer.
The CIT I & II programs teach youth the necessary life, leadership, and outdoor skills to be successful as a camp staff member! CITs will learn about the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, child behavior and characteristics, and outdoor skills during their week(s) at camp. The group of CITs will work together to plan activities at camp with the support of camp staff.
Our CITs will also have the opportunity to experience traditional camp activities and have fun!
CIT Applicant Qualifications
- Currently registered Girl Scout member or willing to obtain a Girl Scout membership prior to camp.
- Must have leadership experience (attending previous camps, school leadership, etc.).
- Genuine interest in attending resident camp (Comstock), working with youth, camping and learning about the skills mentioned above
- Ability to communicate with your peers and adults.
- Ability to work well independently and on a team.
- CIT I’s must be participants entering grades 10-12 in September 2026
- CIT II’s must be participants entering grades 11-12 in September 2026, who have completed CIT I in previous summer(s).
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: May 1, 2026
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. After your application is submitted you should anticipate 2-3 weeks for your application to be reviewed and your Camp Director to reach out to you to schedule an interview. A submitted application does not guarantee your first choice, nor your acceptance into the CIT program.
