Hancock County Game & Fish Club
Rules and Regulations
Hancock County Game & Fish Club offers a 200-acre area with a 20-acre lake stocked with bass, bluegill, crappie, red ear, and channel catfish. We also have 13 campsites with electric and water and numerous primitive campsites available.
Revised rules and regulations approved by the board of directors on March 30, 2025.
A household is defined as a husband, wife, or significant other and all children under the age of 19 years of age unless disabled or handicapped. Any person 19 years old or over will have to obtain their own memberships.
General Rules
-The speed limit in all areas of the Club is 5 mph. Please watch for children at play.
-Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult in all areas of the club, including the shooting range. If your child wants to swim, an adult is required to be on the same side of the lake as the child.
-Firearms are only permitted at the shooting range unless you are authorized to provide security for the Club by the board of directors.
-ALL PETS MUST BE ON A LEASH AND UNDER THE OWNERS CONTROL AT ALL TIMES WHILE ON THE PROPERTY. NO PETS WILL BE PERMITTED IN THE SWIMMING AREA.
-No alcoholic beverages or controlled substances are to be consumed on the property.
-Members may bring guests to the club and pay fees designated for particular activities. (Prices are listed within the specific activities).
-No Hunting on the property.
-Do not pollute the property or lake with trash or fish waste. All trash is to be bagged and placed in the dumpster at the main entrance.
-No ATVs permitted on the property, unless you are authorized by the Club board of directors. Golf carts are allowed only on roads and trails.
-A shower house is provided for those who are camping and swimming at the Club.
-A dump station is provided and to be used only by paid camping members.
-Be considerate of others. Keep the noise at a respectable level, especially after 10 P.M.
-No fishing, camping or fires are permitted in the beach area.
Fishing
-All state licenses for boats and fishing apply at the Club.
-The use of gas motors is prohibited on the lake.
-Boats are not allowed in the swimming area except for rescue.
-Do not put left over bait in the lake.
-Fishing is limited to pole and line only. Limit to three poles per person.
-Do NOT catch or harm the grass carp. They help promote a healthy lake.
-The fishing fee for member guests is $5.00 per guest, per day and payment must be placed in the dropbox by the clubhouse front door or in the red box at the main entrance.
-Pay close attention to posted signs regarding daily catch and size limits of fish. All state regulations do apply.
Swimming
-Swim at your own risk. There are no life guards on duty.
-All persons under the age of 17 that are swimming must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 per Kentucky State Regulations.
-All persons under the age of 18 that are swimming must be accompanied by an adult on the same side of the lake that the child is swimming on.
-Swimming is permitted from 7 A.M. to Dusk.
-No glass bottles permitted in the swimming/beach area.
-The swimming fee for member guests is $5.00 per guest per day and must be placed in the dropbox by the front door of the clubhouse or in the red box at the main entrance by the shower house.
-No floats beyond the line of buoys that separate the swimming area from the fishing area.
-No holding onto the ropes of the buoy lines.
Camping
-Camping is permitted in designated areas only.
-Camping is limited to 14 consecutive days and you must NOT leave your campsite for more than a 12-hour period. At the end of your 14 days the tent or camper must be removed from the property for 3 days or we will remove it for you. This will give others a chance to camp as well.
-Check out time for campers on electric sites is 11:00 AM the next day unless specific arrangements have been made with a board member at least one week in advance of your stay.
-The fee for electrical sites is $15.00 per day whether camper or tent camping and to be paid in advance with no refunds.
-Be responsible with campfires. All state, federal, and local burn regulations apply. Be sure all fires are extinguished prior to leaving your campsite.
-We have provided a dumpster at the main entrance where all members camping at the club and their guests can dispose of their trash daily. We will provide 2 trash bags per site.
-Members can set up tents in designated primitive locations at $5.00 per day. Please contact a board member and let them know what spot you are camping in.
-No trash shall be left behind upon departure including no trash in the fire pits. There will be a $20.00 extra charge if trash is left behind.
-The camping fee for member guests is $5.00 per person per day and must be placed in the dropbox by the clubhouse front door or in the red box at the main entrance of the shower house.
Shooting Range
-The fee for all member guests is $5.00 per person per day and must be placed in the dropbox by the clubhouse front door or in the red box at the main entrance by the shower house or in the box at the shooting range.
-Shooting is to stop at dusk.
-All members and their guests are required to clean up all targets and debris from the grassy areas after they are done shooting.
-ANYONE caught shooting at the shotgun target posts with a rifle or handgun will be subject to termination, NO EXCEPTIONS.
-No one under the age of 18 years is permitted on the shooting range without adult supervision.
-Do not damage or shoot Hancock County Game & Fish Club property.
THESE RULES ARE NON-NEGOTIABLE AND IF THEY ARE NOT FOLLOWED TO THE LETTER CAN RESULT IN THE TERMINATION OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP. EACH MEMBER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR GUESTS AT ALL TIMES WHILE THEY ARE ON THE PROPERTY.

Club Member Information:
Membership fees: $75 per household
Veterans, law enforcement, and emergency personnel: $70
Memberships expire March 31st of each year.
Membership duties include- adhering to all the Clubs rules.
All Members are asked to assist in keeping the Club clean and beautiful.
