The animal I am applying for is being adopted solely as a pet for myself and/or immediate family. I agree that I will not sell, give away or otherwise dispose of said animal to any person(s), shelter, dealer, retailer, auction, institute or any other entity for any reason. If, at any time I am unable or unwilling to keep this animal, I agree to immediately return him/her to The Cat Ranch. I hereby agree to care for the above described animal in a humane and responsible manner and to provide him/her with clean and adequate shelter, food, water, and veterinary care. I further agree that said animal shall reside INSIDE my home and shall not be allowed to roam freely. I understand that many animals are uncomfortable, even frightened, around children, so particular care will be provided if children are interacting with the adoptive animal and I agree to train my child/children to respect animals. I accept full responsibility for all such circumstances and any problems that may occur.

I hereby agree to have the animal examined annually by a licensed veterinarian, kept current on all recommended vaccinations, and licenses in the municipality in which the animal resides. I hereby agree to retrieve the animal from any public shelter if notified he/she is there, and to contact The Cat Ranch immediately if the animal is lost, stolen or dies.

I hereby agree that a The Cat Ranch representative may visit the animal at any time after the adoption to evaluate his/her condition and environment, and may confiscate the animal if living in unsuitable conditions, neglected, or otherwise abused. Failure to abide by this agreement is also grounds for confiscation of the animal with no refund of adoption fee. I understand that The Cat Ranch makes no representations or warranties, expressed or implied, about the animal’s health. I am aware that this animal may have been exposed to contagious or infectious disease or may have been injured prior to rescue by The Cat Ranch. Despite veterinary care already provided and The Cat Ranch’s best efforts to ensure he/she is healthy and sound, unknown conditions may exist. The Cat Ranch will in no way be responsible for any health problems that may arise. I furthermore agree to care for the animal should he/she develop a health problem, and I understand that veterinary care can be expensive.

I understand that The Cat Ranch makes no representations or warranties, expressed or implied, about the animal’s temperament. The Cat Ranch is hereby absolved of any liability and shall not be held responsible for any bodily injuries, property damage, or other damage the adopted animal may cause. The adoptive owner agrees to hold The Cat Ranch and any of its representatives harmless from loss and expense, including legal fees, due to placement of adopted animal.

I realize the adoption fee helps to offset medical costs incurred in the care of my adopted cat, as well as other animals in the care of The Cat Ranch. The animal is adopted on a trial basis for two weeks, and may be returned for a full refund of the adoption fee within that time. After the trial period, the fee is not refundable if the animal is returned to The Cat Ranch. If adopting an unaltered kitten, I agree to have the kitten spayed/neutered (please consult your veterinarian on timing; most vets advise doing this when the kitten is four to six months old). I also agree to pay a $100.00 deposit to guarantee this procedure is completed. This deposit will be refunded or transferred to your veterinarian when The Cat Ranch verifies the completed spay/neuter procedure. (You may mail us a copy of the spay/ neuter certificate or contact us with the name of the veterinarian, once the kitten has been altered).

Do you own your home? If not, you will be required to provide a letter from your landlord with all contact info stating that you're allowed to have pets and that any pet deposit required has been paid in full?

This Cat Ranch Adoption Application is intended to place a cat/kitten into a forever home. If you do not intend on giving this animal a forever home, please see our Foster Application for our fostering program which will give short term access to a pet. You must be over 18 years of age to adopt from The Cat Ranch.
