  • Steve Bolton Memorial Scholarship Application 2024

    The Steve Bolton Memorial Scholarship is a $500 scholarship for graduating high school seniors from Comanche High School. The primary focus of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to young students who have shown academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement. Applicants are required to submit a 500-word essay regarding the topic below. A committee of The Bolton Family and Bolton Family Friends will determine scholarship awardee. Winners will be announced in May at the Comanche High School Assembly.

    Eligibility:

    ·         Graduating Senior from Comanche High School

    ·         Must be enrolling in a Public University

    ·         Typewritten Essay of at least 500 words on stated topic

    ·         A minimum 3.0 GPA, on a 4.0 scale

     

    Award Disbursement:  $250 will be disbursed in the Fall Semester. Remainder will be disbursed in Spring Semester.

    Please list one educator and at least one community person who would recommend you for a scholarship. Please do not list the person who completes a scholarship recommendation for you.

    List name of club, etc. and years of participation. If you volunteered, list the name of organization and the number of hours, weeks and years that you volunteered.

    Steve Bolton’s influence is visible all over the City of Comanche. As the Owner and Editor of the Comanche Times, he spent countless hours promoting Comanche businesses, Community Wide Events, and the achievements of Comanche Public Schools. Steve was an outspoken supporter who helped establish the Comanche Christmas Parade, Easter Egg Hunt, Comanche Monument/Wall, Splash Pad, and numerous other programs and events that highlighted the character and spirit of every Comanchean. Steve was a God-fearing man who loved his family and his community.
