Thank you for your interest in adopting a companion from Rescue OKLA Animal Society & Sanctuary. We are thrilled to assist you in finding your next best friend. We take our adoption process seriously, understanding the challenging situations these animals have faced. We want to make sure they never end up in similar situations. Our adoption fees are as follows: Dogs: $200 Cats: $85. These fees play a vital role in supporting all animals in our rescue. They directly contribute to covering the costs associated with their care, including providing food and veterinary services. All animals adopted out will be spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. For dogs, this includes DHPP (Canine Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus), Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations. Dogs are tested for heartworms if over the age of 7 months and current on heartworm preventatives. For cats, it covers FVRCP, Rabies. Cats and Kittens will have been tested for Feline Aids (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FeLV). Please be aware that we do not facilitate same-day adoptions or have an on-site adoption facility. While your enthusiasm for a particular animal is truly appreciated, we diligently assess every potential adopter and rescue animal to ensure the best possible match for their future homes. It's important to understand that there might be instances where we communicate that a specific animal may not be the most suitable fit. We strive to ensure the perfect match between each animal and their adoptive home, seeking a forever family for every companion.
How our Adoption Process Works:
Submit an Adoption Application: Please allow 3-5 business days for us to process your application and check all references. Please note that we require all other pets in the home to be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations and heartworm preventatives.
Home Visit: If your application is approved, we will contact you to schedule a virtual or phone interview to discuss the animal you are interested in adopting. If it appears to be a potential match for your family after the initial interview, we will coordinate with you for a home visit and to arrange a meet and greet with one of our adoption volunteers.
Adoption Day: After a successful meet and greet, and it is determined to be a good fit for both animal and potential adopter, you will sign the adoption contract and adoption fee will be paid. Please note, all adoption fees are nonreturnable.
