Description Role:
Counselors in Training (CITs) at Camp Wilmot are first and foremost expected to act as role models and leaders for fellow campers and CITs throughout their time at Camp Wilmot. CITs gradually, over the course of the week, lead their peers in completing Cabin Challenges, encourage participation and kindness, and demonstrate respectful behavior in the cabin, during Bible Study, and during worship. In addition to acting as positive role models and leaders, CITs are responsible for waking up the campers each morning (by singing Rise and Shine!), leading energizers, choosing and leading grace before meal-time, assisting the staff during meals, and collaborating to lead the campers for games during the evening. CITs are supported through the Counselor in Training Director who leads the CIT class activity block where CITs have the opportunity to share concerns, funny stories, and debrief about the day. The CIT Director will lead different activities to discuss leadership roles, social situations, and will create a Bible study specifically for the CITs. The CIT Director’s role is to support our CITs in any way that they need as they transition into positions of leadership at Camp Wilmot. If you have any other questions about the responsibilities and expectations feel free to email campwilmotdirector@gmail.com for more information.
