Join us for our 9th annual Wiener Dog Race!
All Wieners are required to be classified as a Dachshund breed to be eligible to enter.
Registration is limited to the first 50 entrants with registration entry forms and fees received no later than Friday, Sept, 27th 2024. No new registrations will be accepted after that date or on race day. The fee to enter is $25.
All Wieners must have their shot records posted on the registration form accompanied by a verifying copy from their veterinarian’s office. (Distemper, Rabies, Parvo, Bordetella).
Race will be held on Saturday Oct 5th, 2024
Divisions
1:00 pm Puppy (23 months and under) (12:45 check in)
2:00 pm Juniors (24 months to 35 months) (1:45 check in)
3:00 pm Adult (36 months and older) (2:45 check in)
Check-in begins 15 mintues prior to each divisions time. The location of the race at Lafayette Village that day will be emailed to all participants the week of the race. The first heat goes off at 1:00pm. All Wieners must check in at the registration desk and pick up their shash prior to the start of their division race. Heats will be run per division until there is a winner before moving on to the next division.
The Wiener Race is a charitable Event organized to help raise awareness and donations for local animal advocate groups and to have fun doing so. As such, none of the following will be allowed: No political campaigning, no selling of animals of any kind, no possession of firearms on site or consumption of drugs or alcohol and no gambling.
All Wieners must be controlled by their owner by virtue of a leash or portable kennel while at the Event except for when they are racing. Any Wiener with a short fuse, aggressive demeanor or tendency to snap or bite must be muzzled for the well-being of Event staff and other participants. All dog owners are responsible for insuring the health and well-being of their Wiener and must provide their own food, snacks and/or medications. There will be no medical assistance available other than EMS via a 911 call. Water for Wieners will be available for hydrating. All owners will be responsible for cleanup of waste from their own Wiener or accompanying animal.
