Anthony has been my co-curator for Opulent Mobility since 2015 when he reached out after the very first show at the Bell Arts Factory in Ventura. He is a real firecracker and it's such a pleasure to work with him.
Since discovering the disability community in 1972, Anthony Tusler has advocated for disability civil rights and culture. A longtime wheelchair user, Anthony has championed disabled people in education, technology, the arts, and community. In his professional and personal activities his goal is to improve the lives of people with disabilities and encourage disability self-determination and culture.
Anthony's website, About Disability, is a 50 year compendium of disability-related writing, photography, and resources. The overarching perspective is a cultural look at disability & disability identity in the United States. He says, "Much of the content is too incredibly detailed and others a little too broad. It is all included so as to preserve a unique disability sensibility."
