Boot Cove Retreat is simply unforgettable! It is situated on its very own private ocean cove surrounded by nearly 50 equally private acres which on the south side adjoin a nature preserve.
From your perch above the ocean you will enjoy watching the ocean’s glorious display. This includes whales, loons, puffins, bald eagles, seals, the occasional moose, and many passing ships. Lobster boats make many appearances each day as well, as does the rare, wooden schooner.
The property, abundant in wildlife, is criss-crossed with miles of private trails cut through forrest and glen. Enjoy spotting the many grouse, wrens, and other woodland birds as well as an abundance of wildflowers, lichen and herbs.
When we’re hungry we will mosey on out to the garden for fresh herbs and vegetables. We’ll set the table with beautiful wild roses and lupines, and enjoy morning coffee on the deck overlooking the sea.
And, there is no “light pollution”, nor sound other than that which nature provides for our listening pleasure.
This is tranquility. This is beauty. This is simply an unforgettable place, in a truly unique environment, in uppermost “Down East” Maine.
Of interest: The Bay of Fundy, Campabello Island, Quoddy Lighthouse, and of course America’s Eastern-most town, Lubec.
About the Rooms:
All rooms in the primary house are equipped with ocean views, luxuriously comfortable beds, and beautiful linens, as well as operable windows to enjoy gentle breezes and the sounds of nature.
Becuase the available rooms are different sizes, configurations, and price-points, you'll find that you are able to choose which room you would like to occupy.
Room #1 Ship Captain’s Retreat is a truly private, romantic, stand-out space in this beautiful home. Wake up to a glorious sunrise over the ocean, take in the gentle breeze and the crashing of the waves below as you sip your morning coffee from the deck just outside the French doors. Then, relax in the massive tub of your ensuite, or enjoy a hot shower surrounded by the beauty that is Italian marble. When you’re ready for some quiet time, grab a book from the carefully curated collection found within, relax in a comfy chair, and take in the incredible ocean view. And at the end of the day, melt into the exquisite comfort of your king-sized bed as you choose whether to enjoy the brilliant starry sky and the calming sound of the ocean, or find a movie on the large-screen tv. Either way you are sure to find yourself drifting off in total peace and comfort before awaking rested and re-charged for the coming day!

Room #2 North Cove Bliss
Step into this totally luxurious, cozy space and feel the troubles of the world melt away! From the gorgeous, well appointed ensuite to the super comfy queen-sized bed, you are sure to find this very private space to be exceedingly welcoming and relaxing. Open your window to hear the ocean waves crashing below for the best sleep of your life, and awake with the sunrise to yet another, beautiful day!

Room #3 The Guest House Master Den
Follow a meandering path through a beautiful, fairy-tale forrest to the lovely master suite of the private guest house. The space is surrounded with natural beauty, with a large bank of windows looking into the woods, filling the room with light. A very comfortable king-sized bed begs you to climb inside, relax, and absorb the tranquility. In the morning enjoy the very comfortable sitting area, relax with a good book and sip your morning tea before you slip into the luxurious bath for a nice, hot shower.
While this lovely room does not look directly over the ocean, there is a rooftop deck above which holds a beautiful view beyond the forrest, to the ocean nearby.

Room #4 Whale Watchers Den
This spacious, gorgeous room is sure to please. Climb into the massive, king-sized and super comfortable king-sized bed, choose a movie to enjoy on the large, flat-screen tv as the sound of the ocean lulls you into a deep, blissful sleep. The expansive bank of windows facing the sea will gift you with a beautiful morning sunrise to get your day off to a glorious start!

Room #5 The Eagle’s Nest, the central bedroom of the second floor space, is super cozy and relaxing, facing the sea and surrounded by lovely artwork and antiques. The full-sized bed is topped with an uber-comfy mattress that just begs you to climb in and enjoy a quiet night’s rest. As with the other rooms of this beautiful home, the view of the ocean is simply magnificent, and the soothing sounds of crashing waves below will draw you in, lulling you into a deep, peaceful sleep. The sunrise over the ocean will wake you each morning, bathing you in its warming glow, but with a view of the twinkling stars at night. Peaceful, calming, relaxing; what more could one wish for?
