Honors Instructor Certification

There are two steps to get certified: (1) get certified as an Honors Instructor through an orientation/workshop participation; (2) get each of your Honors Canvas Courses reviewed and certified as well.

Getting certified as an Honors Instructor

Just sign up for a short orientation and I will try to accommodate you as soon as possible.

Requesting Model Honors Canvas Courses
Important: you can have one Honors Canvas to serve multiple courses, or an Honors Canvas for each course you teach. For example, if you teach two different History courses about different historic periods, but your requirements for Honors Projects are the same for both courses, with the only difference being the topics/historic period, then you can have one Honors Canvas Course for both courses and put all your honors students from both courses together in that one Honors Canvas Course. However, if your Honors requirements/types of assignments differ between the two history courses, then you might want to request two Honors Canvas Shells, to have a separate Honors Canvas Course for each of the two History courses.

You will only get certified as an Honors Instructor once, but each Canvas Course will have to be reviewed and certified separately.

Once you get the Model Honors Canvas as a starting point and then personalize it the way you want to teach it - just let me know and I will review and certify your finalized course. Then you can reuse it in the following semesters.
