Re: Welcoming Wheels Programs

I understand that during my participation in the EAC’s Welcoming Wheels Program I may be exposed to situations and environmental conditions which will be different and more challenging than those which I normally encounter. More specifically I acknowledge and understand that I will be riding a bike and participation in cycling training, riding on the road and working with tools.

I also acknowledge that although the Ecology Action Centre is taking precautions to provide proper organization, supervision, instruction and care during the Welcoming Wheels Event, circumstances may arise which are not foreseeable or which are beyond the control of the Ecology Action Centre. I acknowledge that the Ecology Action Centre cannot guarantee my safety or well-being and I agree to comply with the instruction and directions given to me by EAC staff or my bike buddy volunteer.

I, hereby indemnify and hold harmless the Ecology Action Centre and Bike Again, their agents, employees and volunteers from and against all claims, demands, losses, costs, damages, actions, suits or proceedings, relating to either injury or my death, arising out of or attributable to my participation in the Bike Buddy Program. This indemnification shall include negligence or breach of any statutory or other duty of care, including the duty of care under the Occupiers Liability Act.

I am aware of the nature and effect of this Informed Consent, Risk Acknowledgment and Release of Liability and Indemnity Agreement and I acknowledge having read this form before signing it.

This Agreement shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia. Any litigation involving the parties shall be brought in the Province of Nova Scotia.
