Written Justification - Honorary Membership
The nominee shall have rendered outstanding service to ICC throughout their career. The following criteria shall be considered:

1. Exhibited distinction in both reputation and career achievements that have positively impacted the furtherance of the organization

2. Active participation in the organization

3. Board of Directors service

4. Committee service

5. Code development

6. Other not specifically listed service recognized and supported by the organization

7. Contributed to the organization in a significant manner through volunteer efforts throughout their career

8. Demonstrated a commitment to the mission, goals, and vision of the organization

9. Applicability of the nominee’s contributions must be evident within the submission materials

Educator of the Year Award

This nomination and the letters of support are the opportunity for you to make a compelling case for your nominee. Please provide as much detail and as many relevant examples as possible to frame why your nominee deserves this prestigious award. Encourage those writing the required letters of support to do the same.

Provide a short title and narrative summary of the innovative practice or program being nominated for the award.*
Explain what prompted the organization to develop the innovative practice. (This should include whether the practice or program addresses a unique issue for the organization or whether the issue being addressed is common to other organizations.)*
Identify where the practice or program positively affected code administration. (e.g. at the state, regional, county, or local level)*

Written Justification - Trailblazer Award
The ELMC Trailblazer award is given to recognize Code Council members who dedicate themselves to the development and growth of the next generation of code officials or building safety professionals. For consideration, the ELMC requests written narrative(s) detailing instances of the nominee’s commitment as a mentor and leader, both in ICC and within their community. The narrative should speak to the particulars of their professional involvement with ICC and offer any additional specific examples of quality and consistency of work product and exemplary character shown to be in-line with the values of the membership council.*

Written Justification - National Leadership in Sustainability Award
The National Leadership in Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Award recognizes outstanding contributions to the growth and enhancement of codes or public policy espousing the principles of the Code Council Sustainability Membership Council. The awards honor states, cities, towns and individuals who go above and beyond to raise compliance with building energy codes – and by doing so, help unlock billions in savings and improve the efficiency of America’s new and existing buildings and homes using cost-effective, practical, and innovative strategies.
