Sustainable Production Professional Certification

Improving the sustainability knowledge, skills, and capacity of the entertainment workforce will provide an important pathway for reducing the environmental impacts of media production.
USGBC-CA is excited to reach out to you for your expertise and feedback as we further pursue one of our 2024 strategic goals: creating a professional certification for the entertainment industry. For this training, we are focusing on the professional development of the entertainment workforce and developing a certification that can function alongside the LEED professional credentials. This training will build upon the successful models developed by USGBC-CA for other industry specific credentials with nearly 4,000 professionals trained in 2023 alone.

The entertainment industry has been collaborating and working toward industry sustainability for more than a decade. Much has been learned about the environmental impacts of physical production, and while some training has been developed, an industry standard has yet to be established. Improving the sustainability knowledge, skills, and capacity of the entertainment industry workforce will provide an important pathway for reducing the environmental impacts of media production.
