Volunteer Agreement

Community Law and it's commitment to you
Here at Community Law Waikato, we aim to adhere to a set standard of professional conduct. We value our rapport with our clientele, as well as management and with one another. We commit to:
- Provide necessary Induction and Support.
- Offer you clear insutructions and feedback .
- Be available for question and discussion as necessary.
- Provide a safe workplace.

Termination and Changes to Shifts
As a Volunteer Caseworker, you agree to:
Provide as much notice as possible to resign (at least two weeks notice).*

Provide as much notice as possible to time/day to shift changes (at least 2 weeks notice).*

Provide suitable notice for shift changes due to unforeseen circumstances (24 hours notice where possible)*

End of Volunteer Term.
Relevant legislation - The Employment Relations Act 2000
The Volunteer accepts that they are a volunteer as per section 6(1)(c) of the Employment Relations Act 2000.*

Volunteers agree that any misconduct may result in the details of that misconduct being reported to the New Zealand Law Society.*

CLW will endeavour at all times to resolve any performance issues/ concerns directly with the Volunteer in the first instance and in Good Faith.*

This agreement may be terminated without notice by CLW in circumstances such as misconduct, poor performance, availability issues, or other reasons whereby the Volunteer is deemed by CLW to be unsuited or unable to continue in the role.*

Confidentiality
When volunteering at Community Law Waikato, you have access to private and confidential client information that must be kept strictly confidential.
You agree to keep all client information strictly confidential during and after your time volunteering with Community Law Waikato.*

Client information is only to be discussed with the Solicitor/s giving advice, whether that be a Staff Solicitor, or a Volunteer Solicitor.*

All paperwork must be kept confidential and scanned securely to a file. All draft notes or electronic files no longer required must be placed in the shredder bin or deleted immediately.*

Code of conduct
As a CLW representative I never act in any way that will bring CLW into disrepute.

I accept the Zero Tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, violence and all other unacceptable behaviour*
