  • I have answered the questions on this Foster Care Application truthfully and completely. I understand that although Neighborhood Cat Advocates takes reasonable care to screen animals for foster care placement, it makes no guarantee relating to the health of an animal, behavior, or actions. I understand that the right to foster any animal for Neighborhood Cat Advocates may be withdrawn at any time. I understand that I receive foster care animals at my own risk and can reject or return any animal for which Neighborhood Cat Advocates has asked me to provide care. I indemnify and hold Neighborhood Cat Advocates free and harmless from all liability arising out of any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, action, judgment of every kind, and description which may occur to or be suffered by me, members of my household, or any third parties by reason of activities arising out of this agreement.

  • 1. I understand my responsibilities as a Foster Parent and have asked any questions I might have. I feel prepared to take on the role of Foster Parent.

    2. I understand that continued participation in the foster program depends on my cooperation with expectations presented to me.

    3. I understand that my foster pet will only be treated by a veterinarian chosen by Neighborhood Cat Advocates or my pet may be treated by authorized personnel of Neighborhood Cat Advocates. I further understand that I will not be reimbursed for expenses incurred at my own veterinarian and I am to notify Trudi O'Connor or Sarah Downs if my foster pet shows signs of illness.

    4. I understand that Neighborhood Cat Advocates is not responsible for any illness occurring or veterinary care required for foster parents’ own pets.

    5. If I would like to adopt my foster pet, I must submit an adoption application and be formally approved by Neighborhood Cat Advocates when the pet becomes adoptable. No pet may be adopted until they have been spayed/neutered.

  • 6. I will bring my foster pet to the PawPrints Spay/Neuter clinic when notified by Neighborhood Cat Advocates that they are due for vaccinations or other medical care. 

    7. I am willing to take my foster pet to and from adoption events as needed.

    8. I will help Neighborhood Cat Advocates find a suitable adopter for my foster pet by posting clear pictures and descriptions on social media when they are ready for adoption.

    9. I understand that my foster pet is not to be given to anyone (or kept as my own pet) until the pet has been spayed/neutered and any necessary paperwork is complete and authorized by a designated member of Neighborhood Cat Advocates.

    10. I understand that my foster pet could possibly become quite ill and not survive or have to be euthanized and the decision to euthanize will be made by the veterinarian chosen by Neighborhood Cat Advocates.

    11. I understand that Neighborhood Cat Advocates is not responsible for any damage done by my foster pet to any of my property or my Landlord(s) property including, but not limited to flooring, furniture, people or other pets in my home.

  • 12. I will not allow unsupervised children to play with my foster pet, never let unrestrained pets around my foster pet and will ensure that the foster pet’s surroundings are escape-proof.

    13. I understand that teen/adult foster pets will not be confined to a cage or bedroom. I will not let my foster pet have access to a doggy door, torn screen or open window.

    14. I will call either Trudi O'Connor or Sarah Downs if I notice any change in my foster pet’s behavior, including: extreme lethargy, loss of appetite, breathing difficulty, green nasal secretions, lack of weight gain, death or escape of my foster pet.

    15. If I am renting I will have the approval of my Landlord(s).

    16. My own animals, over 6 months of age, have been altered and are up to date on vaccinations.

    17. I agree to permit an onsite premises visit by a representative of Neighborhood Cat Advocates.

    18. Neighborhood Cat Advocates will provide food, litter, and other supplies, if needed. I will give ample notice (at least 5 days) when my fostering supplies need to be replenished.
