Remember that this application is for FIRST-TIME Staff (C.I.T.s, Junior Counselors, and Volunteers) only. When you are finished, press "Submit" at the bottom of this form. Please do not submit more than once.
Please be aware that MARCH 23rd is the final deadline to submit this application and the recommendation. Interviews will likely be held during the week of MARCH 24th on Zoom (please keep an eye out for emails regarding interviews). Staff Expectations
A C.I.T. is a counselor-in-training. As the name implies, the C.I.T. works under the supervision of his/her senior counselor as they are trained in becoming a counselor by the Junior and Senior Counselors in their class group. The C.I.T., like all other counseling staff, is expected to attend all staff meetings, training times, and to participate enthusiastically in all aspects of the program and to work cooperatively with the other Day Camp staff.
A Counselor-In-Training will be expected to:
- Work in cooperation with both the staff directing him/herself and the staff he/she is directing to provide joint activities for 20-25 children.
- Support the senior and junior counselors within their group.
- Observe and learn the many different aspects of Day Camp.
- Help organize and work with others on different indoor and outdoor activities as needed, including small groups.
- Be helpful and encouraging to the group
- Attend all staff meetings, training times, and to participate in the daily devotions.
A Junior counselor will be expected to:
- Work in cooperation with both the staff directing him/herself and the staff he/she is directing to provide joint activities for 20-25 children.
- Supervise a group of six to eight children at a time.
- Lead a Bible-based curriculum.
- Plan activities which will enhance the spiritual, mental and physical growth of children in appropriate ways. Organize crafts, music, drama, and/or other activities.
- Be helpful and encouraging to members of the group
- Attend all staff meetings, training times, and to participate in the daily devotions.
A Volunteer will be expected to help with:
- Lunch/Snack set up, distribution, and clean up
- Birthday Costumes and Tech
- Documenting camper attendance
- Being field trip safety runners
- Counselor substitution and watching over late pick-up kids
