OUR HISTORY
Lillie's Institute of Phlebotomy/EKG was founded August 4, 2017 in Killeen, TX By Mrs. Brittney N. Johnson. Her vision was to create an allied healthcare institute that would specialize in the field of phlebotomy while fostering a cutting edge approach to teaching the future of this profession.
THE PROGRAM
Lillie's Institute of Phlebotomy/EKG will provide scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic school year to deserving high school seniors who exemplfy academic and community excellence. The scholarship is named for Doretha Barnes-Pinkins, the youngest daughter of Lillie M. Barnes-Conyer. Doretha was a freedom fighter who believed in the power of education.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the scholarship, perspective awardees must:
- Be a United States Citizen (subject to verification)
- Be currently enrolled in high school
- Be a high school senior planning to enroll at Lillie's Institute of Phlebotomy/EKG
APPLICATION
Interested students must complete the scholarship application along with the following:
- A 500-word maximum typed essay (see essay topic on application)
- Two (2) letters of recommendation (must be from a teacher, counselor, Minister, or Commnity Leader, or school official)
- Offical transcript required
- Community Service- produce a signed letter from organization/church affiliation on an official letterhead with contact information.
The application and all required supporting documents (transcript, letters of recommendation and essay) must be completed by April 5, 2024. Applications submitted after this date WILL NOT be considered
