The Greater Rappahannock (VA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated Annual Scholarship Submission
The Greater Rappahannock (VA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated Scholarships are awarded annually to African-American students graduating from a high school within the organization’s service area who meet specific academic and other eligibility requirements and plans to attend a two- or four-year college on a full-time basis. These 6, one-time scholarships of $2,000 each, will be paid to the college and applied towards tuition, books or other academic supplies. These scholarships are open from January 1, 2024 - March 31, 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must be an African American candidate for graduation in a high school within the service areas of the Greater Rappahannock (VA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. Our service areas include: The City of Fredericksburg and counties of Spotsylvania, Stafford, Caroline, and King George. The applicant must plan to attend an accredited two or four year-college. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or better on a weighted 4.0 scale. In addition to the completed form, applicants must submit the following: Applicants must submit a completed submission package. An official copy of your transcript from your School Counseling Office. Two letters of recommendation from a school counselor, teacher or school administrator, and a member of your community who can attest to your abilities and character. Attach a recent photo of yourself to the application and a one-page double-spaced essay of 500 words or less.
