Millennium Court is excited to announce its Open Call for an exhibition to be held during Northern Ireland Mental Health Art's Festival. We invite artists living and working in Northern Ireland, or who were born in Northern Ireland, to submit their artwork for consideration in a group exhibition during May 2024, in response to their interpretation to the theme of the arts festival "Pause".
The selected works will be carefully curated in a physical group exhibition in The Community Room, Millennium Court, Portadown. (Please check our website for pictures of the space www.millenniumcourt.co.uk)
Artists may submitt a maximum of three pieces.
Key dates:
Open Call deadline: Friday 1st March 2024, 12noon.
Selction Notification: Friday 15th March 2024
Selected Work Drop off Dates: Monday 22nd April - 26th April 2024
Exhibition opening: Saturday 18th May 2024, 2 – 4pm
Exhibition Dates: 18th May - 20th June 2024
Collection of unsold works: 24th - 28th June 2024
Eligibility
There are no restrictions on discipline or media accepted.
Work submitted should be no large than 150 x 150 cm in size.
Three-dimensional wall & plinth based work will be accepted but please be aware space for floor base work is limited.
All art work must have been made in the pas 12 months.
All images submitted must be original artwork created by yourself.
No reproductions or copies of any kind will be accepted.
Selected artwork must be delivered to the gallery no later than Friday 29th March.
Selection Process
All applicants will be considered through a selection/reviewing process. Please be aware that a submitted application does not automatically guarantee that your work will be accepted. All submissions will receive a confirmation email from Jotform.
Unfortunately, we cannot respond to every applicant so, if you have not heard from us by Friday 15th March 2024, your work has unfortunately not been selected on this occasion.
Terms and Conditions
By entering the Open Call application, you accept and agree to the following Terms and Conditions:
• All entries must be submitted using the online Jotform by the stated deadline.
Delivery
• It is the responsibility of the artist to organise delivery of work to the gallery.
• All delivered artworks must be clearly labelled.
• Millennium Court is not responsible for any loss or damage incurred during transit to and from the gallery.
Supporting images
• All artwork images should be no larger than 1MB in size.
• By submitting artwork to the Open Call you give permission for your work to be shared by Millennium Court on its website, social media platforms and newsletters.
• The artist retains full copyright of the work.
Framing
• Submitted works are not required to be framed.
• Submissions on paper should be framed in a minimal style frame. • Selected works must be delivered ready to display.
Pricing
• All work selected for exhibition will be expected to be for sale with the exception of portraits. A commission of 20% is charged by the gallery. It will be assumed that the sale price includes all your costs and our commission. Please allow for these points when pricing your work.
Insurance
• Artists are responsible for insuring their own work. All works accepted for exhibition will be transported entirely at the artists' risk and organisers and the gallery will not accept liability for loss or damage occurring during travel to the exhibition or the selection process. The upmost care will be taken of all works submitted for exhibition. Millennium Court will not be responsible for any damage, loss of or destruction of any works for any reason whatsoever. Artists should insure their works against all risks. Works are insured when accepted to the exhibition and condition checked by the gallery.
Selection
•The decision is final and binding and no correspondence or feedback will be entered into under any circumstance.
•Work not collected on the designated days will be liable to a storage charge or disposed of
• The artist allows the organisers to use images of any artwork for publicity and public engagement purposes only. This includes television, print (catalogue, newspapers, trade publications), website ( Millennium Court and others), social media (Millennium Court and others) and any other method that the Millennium Court deems fit for purpose.
• No work may be removed from the exhibition until after the close of the exhibition.
• Sold work is marked with a red dot. Millennium Court will not be liable for any loss arising out of the failure by a purchaser to complete a sale or the mis-marking of any piece sold. 20% commission from the listed catalogue price will be deducted from all works sold during the exhibition. Artists will be paid six weeks after the close of the exhibition and only if Millennium Court has been fully paid by the buyer.
