Angela DeMontigny is an award-winning, Indigenous Canadian (Cree/Métis) designer, artist and entrepreneur. Angela was the lead designer for the All Our Relations public art project for Hamilton’s Pier 8 Waterfront, that focused on interconnection at the core of First Nations, Inuit and Métis worldviews and ways of knowing.
Sheila Murray is the celebrated author of 'Finding Edward' (2023) and has written for many Canadian literary journals. Much of Sheila’s working life was spent as a documentary filmmaker and television sound editor. Since 2012, she has worked in the social justice, not-for-profit sector, and has a BA in Journalism and an MA in Immigration and Settlement Studies.
Shane Pennells is an Indigenous (Ojibwe) filmmaker and writer, and is on the boards of Theatre Aquarius and Shalem Mental Health. Shane has worked with marginalized populations in Hamilton for more than 20 years, using the arts to bring attention to their voices and stories.
Adjudication process:
Adjudicators will review your complete application and assign scoring as per the scoring criteria (pages 4, 5 & 8 in Guidelines). Applications are ranked within their presentation stream and based on the total scores assigned to each. Final decisions will be made in consultation between the adjudication panel and HAC staff. Selections will be made from amongst the highest scoring applications in each stream to best represent a diverse range of presentations.
