One Pallet, One Community
Collector Application
One Pallet, One Community is a grassroots program developed by True North Aid that encourages Canadians to meet the specific needs of a remote and northern Indigenous community. This is accomplished by a group of volunteers (collectors) in a southern region hosting a short-term collection drive that fills a minimum of one pallet.
If you are interested in being part of this initiative and making an impact, there are a few things that you should know.
*Collectors are encouraged to create a 3-month timeline from starting the collection to having the pallet packed and ready to go
*Collectors must guarantee a collection of a minimum of one pallet of goods (when packed the pallet should be 4ft x 4ft x 4ft)
*All collectors are expected to store and prepare items for shipping which include;
- Obtaining a pallet to place packed boxes on
- Shrinkwrapping the packed pallet
- Providing an inventory of goods with the approximate value of the packed pallet
- Estimating the weight of the shipment
- Measuring height, length and width of pallet(s)
*True North Aid CAN NOT guarantee an exact pickup date as we work with remote communities where expedited transportation of goods can be a challenge. We do our best to pick up on dates requested, however, some locations will take more time to arrange transportation.
*Collectors will be required to create an inventory of the items they receive with an approximate value of the item.
*Collectors will receive a community profile so they can learn about the people and geographic location they are collecting for.
*Collectors will receive support from True North Aid staff to ensure a successful collection drive.
