Unfortunately, perception is everything - Social Media (Facebook, Snap Chat, Instagram, etc.) presence can be harmful to the reputation of a cheer coach. Please know that your profile will be viewed by students and/or parents and a determining factor on coaching positions.

Coaches are not just on the sidelines, or people at practice - Coaches are held to a higher standard and EVERYTHING they do reflects on the league.

Any concerns/complaints from squad members or parents will be evaluated individually.

With all the above being said - It is important to point out that I will support the coaches in any way possible.

If coaches have any concerns or issues with squad members and/or parents, it will need to be brought to my attention as soon as possible.

Coaches run their squads - I do not run squads!

I rely on the coaches to help make decisions for the cheerleaders - You as a coach are my eyes and ears when I can not be present.

If a parent brings a problem to the coach - the coach needs to reach out to alert me of the situation - Any issue that is brought to me regarding a specific squad will be brought to the coaches’ attention as well. We MUST work together as a team. -

Beggs Youth Cheer does not do "Head coach/Assistant coach" we have co-coaches that work together. Working along side each other is required. We are a league of youth cheerleaders and our main goal is to properly teach and prepare for a future in cheerleading.

COACHING IS A COMMITMENT!

Coaching for Beggs Youth Cheer is a big commitment.

Coaches are committing to coaching an entire squad - not just their own child. If your child is unable to cheer - you are still required to coach.

Each Squad will have a camp - in the past a weeklong camp has been the most successful. Camp is generally scheduled the later part of July/early August.

Monday - Tuesday - Thursday are prime practice days - A coach must be able to commit to at least 2 days a week for practice.

Typically football season starts the weekend before Labor Day and Championship game can be as late as the 2nd week of November. (This includes labor day weekend and fall break - Football doesn't break for school breaks)

Also - we cheer when the football boys play - this means even in the rain. Games could have rain delays but are rarely canceled or rescheduled so there is a chance that we cheer when it's raining (not lightning).

Games are typically played on Saturdays - In the past, our games have started at 4:30p.m. for 1/2 - 6:00p.m. for 3/4 and 7:30 for 5/6 but those times are subject to change. However we have had a few Tuesday and Thursday games thrown into the mix in past years.

We also walk in the Beggs Christmas Parade which is the 1st or 2nd Saturday in December and our End of the Year Banquet is held on whichever Saturday the Parade is not. Attendance is REQUIRED at the Banquet and Encouraged for the Parade.

Beggs Youth Cheer reserves the right to run a background check on each applicant.

Beggs Youth Cheer is allowed 2 coach passes per squad per CFL guidelines.

2 coaches will be selected per squad - only if a squad gets so large that those 2 coaches think they will need a 3rd coach will a 3rd coach be selected. However, the 3rd coach will not receive a gate admission pass to football games.

If more than 2 people apply for the same squad - the applications are sent to outside people for selection. Names are removed and replaced with numbers so that the choice is based on the application and not favoritism.

Competitions are not a required part of Beggs Youth Cheer. It is ultimately up to the coaches on if they want to participate in the offered competitions. In years past, the offered competitions are the CFL Competition (held in EARLY in the season) and the Sapulpa Competition (held prior to Thanksgiving in November) but that is open to discussion per each squad.

Cheerleaders have the option of participating in competitions, but all those that sign up will be able to participate.
