Position: Diesel Motorcoach Technician

Location: Marquette, MI / Rapid River, MI

Company: Checker Bus LLC

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: 8-10 hour shift, Day shift, Monday to Friday

Compensation: $25-$33 Based on experience

Starting rate: Negotiable based on skills and experience.

Job Description:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel motorcoaches.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and electrical systems.

• Conduct regular service and safety inspections.

• Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.

• Maintain detailed records of services and repairs performed.

• Ensure all vehicles are compliant with industry standards and regulations.

• Collaborate with the operations team to manage maintenance schedules.

• Provide technical support and advice to the driving team.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or similar role.

• High School diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics is a plus.

• Valid Driver’s License required, CDL preferred.

• Good driving record.

• Strong understanding of diesel engines (motorcoach experience preferred).

• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Manual dexterity and physical stamina for handling heavy equipment and parts.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Requirements:

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

• Demonstrated reliability, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic.

• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies.

• Must have reliable transportation and be punctual for shifts.
