The Nocturnists Satellites is an opportunity for arts-inclined clinicians and clinician groups to access support from The Nocturnists in producing their own live storytelling shows. By partnering with people and organizations across the country to foster community-based storytelling, we hope to amplify the movement we’ve been building over the last eight years—to support wellbeing and connection through artistic expression.

We’ve found that one of the key elements to successful storytelling events is to pair storytellers with story coaches to prepare for the show. Story coaches work one-on-one with storytellers in the months leading up to the show—serving as a cross between an editor, cheerleader, and performance coach—to help storytellers craft engaging, compelling stories to perform on stage. Satellite partners are responsible for identifying their own story coaches, though we can help with this process. Do you have anyone in mind to work as a story coach for this event? The Nocturnists Satellites | California Sponsorships

Thank you for your interest in the California Satellites Program sponsored by California Health Care Foundation

The Satellites Program supports clinicians and clinician groups to access support from The Nocturnists in producing live storytelling shows in their local communities in the next year. In partnership with the California Health Care Foundation (CHCF), we’ll be offering three $15,000 grants to Satellites partners to produce these Nocturnists-style events.

In addition to funding, Satellites partners will receive specialized, ongoing support and training from The Nocturnists team for every aspect of planning and producing the event. The ideal partner would include a project lead, a team of champions, and some degree of organizational, departmental, or institutional support (not necessarily financial).

Applicants can be individuals, organizations/institutions, or a team of individuals in the same region interersted in collaborating together! The only requirement is the applicant(s) must reside in California. If you have questions about your elegibility, please email: satellites@thenocturnists.com
