    This application must be filled out completely and submitted to be considered for possible reservation. 

    Reservations may be accepted no more than six (6) months from the requested date of use. The deposit must be paid within 10 business days from the notification of approval of reservation. The balance of the rental fee is due by the 1 day of the month of the reservation. Cancellation must be made no less than forty-five (45) days prior to the event date in order to receive a full refund of the deposit paid. Events cancelled after the forty-five (45) days will forfeit their deposit. The code to access the building will be provided no later than the day before the reservation. In the event of a lost key, a re-key fee of $250.00 will be charged to cover the cost of having the building re-keyed and new keys made. A copy of a valid driver’s license must be submitted with every application.

  • MOUNT PLEASANT COMMUNITY CENTER FACILITY AGREEMENT:


    All sections must be initialed to acknowledge accountability.

    Safety and Security:

    • This facility is under video surveillance at all times.
    • Do not block emergency exits. Exits are marked with an internally lit exit sign. In the event that the sign is not lit, please notify facility staff.
    • The building has been inspected by the City of Mount Pleasant Fire Department and was found to be in compliance. The life safety systems, fire alarms, and pull stations DO work. In the event that a false alarm is made, the responsible party will be dealt with the by appropriate authority and will be subject to additional fees/fines. 
    • Events that request to have alcohol on site will be staffed with a licensed and bonded law enforcement officer. This is to ensure the safety of attendees as well as provide security of the premises. (See Lease Term and Rent).

    General Building Rules:

    • The Lessee shall accept responsibility for enforcing these rules or appoint a representative to do so. This person shall be at least twenty-one (21) years of age, competent to accept legal responsibility, and this representative will be the only person authorized to work with the City of Mount Pleasant. Proof of age will be required by way of a driver’s license with a photo that will be copied at the time of lease. This person must attend that stated function. The Lessee shall be a resident of Maury County, Tennessee
    • The Lessee must abide by all local, state, and federal laws in any matters concerning the Mount Pleasant Community Center. 
    • The designated representative shall be responsible for maintaining order, bother inside the building and outside on the grounds. Any violation of the rules or observance of an unsafe condition shall be reported to the security officer when on duty or to the non-emergency City of Mount Pleasant Police dispatch number 931-379-3201. 
    • Safety is a major concern. The Lessee is responsible for maintaining safety of event attendees. No activity shall be carried out that would present dangerous circumstances or undue risk to attendees. 
    • Under no circumstances are doors to be locked so that entry cannot be gained from the outside. No doorways or exits are to be obstructed by any means. The Lessee must ensure that all doors are properly locked and secure at the end of your event. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE IF LEFT UNLOCKED!
    • The lights should be turned off to conserve energy when the building is closed for the night.
    • Lessee shall be responsible for the repair of any and all damages that results from the use of the facility. Damage is defined to include breakage, scratched or chipped paint, scuff marks and all other physical degradation of the premises. If damages occur, your deposit will be withheld. If the damage amounts to more than the withheld deposit, the Lessee shall be responsible for the difference.
    • No decorations shall be permitted that require attachment to walls, light fixtures, or ceiling in any other manner. Use of tape, nails, staples, brads and screws are prohibited.
    • No decorations shall be attached to, suspended from, or otherwise fastened on the light fixtures. All decorations shall be removed after use. The use of table decorations exclusively is encouraged.The building and grounds must be cleaned up from the inside and outside of the premises.
    • The building should be in the same condition as before Lessee obtained the key.
    • Use of the main entrance to the building shall not be permitted if it interferes with the ordinary activities of the permanent residents.
    • Lessee is required to take out the trash. The dumpster is located in the West Hall Parking Lot. All trash must be bagged prior to putting it in the dumpster. One (1) trash bag per can will be provided to the Lessee. The lessee shall provide their own 33-39 gallon trash bags should they need more.
    • The throwing of birdseed or rice and use of glitter and/or confetti is prohibited.
    • NO SMOKE OR FOG MACHINES will be allowed. These WILL set off the fire alarm.
    • No tents, canopies, or awnings may be erected where stakes or posts must be driven into the ground or parking area. Only those types that are self-supporting or use other means of support are allowed.
    • The foyer of the building must remain community space. Lessees should not decorate this space, move the furniture around, or dance on the floors in the foyer. This space is to provide access to the restrooms and is not a part of your room rental.
    • No sand or dance floor products designed to make the floor more suitable for dancing will be allowed.
    • Overloading electrical circuits must be avoided. Depending on the event request, lessee must be responsible for providing their own additional electrical power.
    • Any decorations, furniture, greenery, musical equipment or other event related items must be removed after the event. The Lessor will not be responsible for items left in the building.
    • Abuse of the facility or violation of these rules may result in the immediate termination of the event and/or Lessee being barred from future use of the facility.

     

    Lease Term and Rent:

    • No Lessee shall be allowed to rent the facility more than seven consecutive days without special permissions from the City of Mount Pleasant, City Manager’s Office.
    • A cleaning deposit/equipment deposit is required with the balance of the room rental fee. If the building and its contents are not left in the condition they were found, as stated by this agreement, ALL of the deposit will be forfeited. Lessees that forfeit their deposit will not be eligible for rentals in the future.
    • The deposit must be paid within 10 business days from the notification of approval of the reservation.
    • The balance of the rental fee is due by the 1st day of the month of the reservation. If the balance is not paid by the deadline, then the event will be removed from the schedule and the deposit shall be forfeited.
    • Cancellation must be made no less than forty-five (45) days prior to the event date in order to receive a full refund of the deposit paid. Events cancelled after the forty-five (45) days will forfeit their deposit.
    • Keys are located on site in a key box that is located on the handle of the front doors of the building. The code to access the keys will be provided no later than the day before Lessee’s reservation. In the event of a lost key, Lessee will be responsible for a re-key fee of $250.00 to cover the cost of having the building re-keyed and new keys made.
    • A limited number of tables and chairs are available at no charge. Tables and chairs are located in the event closet and must be stacked neatly back inside when finished. Leave the chairs in stacks of 10 inside the closet.
    • Events that request to have alcohol on site will be required to have a licensed and bonded law enforcement officer. This officer must be duly authorized to make an arrest. (Examples; Mount Pleasant Police Department, Maury County Sheriff’s Department,
      Columbia Police Department, Spring Hill Police Department, or a private security company). It is the responsibility of the Lessee to arrange this security. Lessees must provide the name and phone number for the provided security.

    The following room reservation fees are in effect for the use of the Mount Pleasant Community Center West Hall:

    Background Check - $29.00 (performed by the Mount Pleasant Police Department)

    Lessees that reserve the room at an hourly rate may reserve for a minimum on 2 hours to a maximum of 4 hours with a refundable cleaning deposit of $300.00. This is only for groups of 100 or less. No alcohol will be permitted for these types of reservations.

    Lessee’s that reserve ½ day on Friday cannot access the room until 5:00pm. Lessee’s that reserve ½ day on Sunday have access to the room until 3:00pm. Events can start no earlier than 7:00am and must be completed by 11:00pm per Mount Pleasant Municipal Code Chapter 3, Title 11, Section 302. Occupants must leave the facility clean by 1:00am.

    The following room reservation fees are in effect for the use of the Mount Pleasant Community Center East Hall:

    NO ALCOHOL

    • Events can start no earlier than 7:00am and must be completed by 11:00pm per Mount Pleasant Municipal Code Chapter 3, Title 11, Section 302. Occupants must leave the facility clean by 1:00am.
    • This facility provides tables and chairs for a limited number of guests. Tables and chairs located in the West Hall must remain in the West Hall. Tables and chairs located in the East Hall must remain in the East Hall.
      • West Hall - Seating for 100 provided
      • East Hall - Seating for 30 provided
    • In the West Hall, tables and chairs are located in the event closet and must be stacked neatly back inside when finished. Leave the chairs in stacks of 10 inside the closet. The event closet should not be used by for anything other than MPCC’s tables and chairs.
    • In the East Hall, please do not move the tables from their current place. Dragging the furniture across the shuffleboard court results in damage and you will not receive your deposit back.
    • The foyer of the building must remain community space. Lessees should not decorate this space, move the furniture around, or dance on the floors in the foyer. This space is to provide access to the restrooms and is not a part of your room rental.


    Kitchen Privileges:

    • No cooking of any kind is allowed inside of the kitchen/building.
    • Warming of food will be permitted using chafing dishes and crock pots.
      Use of the event fridge only is permitted.
    • No food items are to be left over in the kitchen area, including the refrigerator.
    • Cleanup is to be provided by the Lessee. This includes sweeping and moping the floor, wiping the counters clean, and all trash taken to the dumpster located on the west side of the building.
    • Lessees must provide their own cleaning supplies, 33-39 gallon trash bags, and kitchen supplies.

    Parking:

    • Parking is available in the West and East Hall Parking Lots. No streets or driveways are to be blocked or impaired by event attendees. Vehicles blocking these areas will be towed. Event attendees are NOT permitted to park on the grass! In the event of damage to the grassy areas, your deposit will be withheld.


    Alcoholic Beverages:

    • At any event where alcoholic beverages are to be served, the Lessee shall be responsible for complying with all applicable laws, including obtaining an event license from the Alcoholic Beverage Commission (ABC) if required under such laws, including underage drinking. The Lessee will indemnify and hold harmless lesser from the serving or use of alcoholic beverages at the event. For events with planned attendance of 100 or more that plan on serving alcohol, a comprehensive general liability insurance policy or its equivalent written on an occurrence basis (or yearly basis), with a minimum of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) will be required. The City of Mount Pleasant is to be named as an additional insured on the policy. Proof of Insurance is to be provided no later than one week prior to the event.

    Smoking

    • The Mount Pleasant Community Center is a smoke-free building. Smoking is permitted outside the building only. All cigarette butts must be picked up and properly disposed. If the fire alarm is activated due to smoking, Lessee will be subject to additional fees/fines.

  • Cleaning Checklist

    Main Halls:

    TRASH – All groups are responsible for taking out their trash. All trash must be bagged and tied before putting in the dumpsters. The trash cans must be cleaned and relined. The city will provide Lessee with 1 trash bag per can. After this, YOU MUST PROVIDE THE 33-39 GALLON

    DECORATIONS – All decorations, greenery, furniture, etc. used to decorate MUST BE REMOVED from the building immediately following your event. We will not be responsible for anything left in the building.

    TABLES/CHAIRS – All tables and chairs should be placed neatly inside of the event closet. Chairs should be in stacks of 10.

    FLOORS – All floors are to be swept and mopped after every event. LESSEES SHOULD PROVIDE THEIR OWN CLEANING SUPPLIES. This includes brooms, mops, buckets, and chemicals.

    LIGHTS – All lights should be turned off when leaving the building.

     

    Kitchen:

    TRASH – All groups are responsible for taking out their trash. All trash must be bagged and tied before putting in the dumpsters. The trash cans must be cleaned and relined. The city will provide Lessee with 1 trash bag per can. After this, YOU MUST PROVIDE THE 33-39 GALLON

    APPLIANCES – Lessees using the refrigerator/freezer should remove anything they brought with them and stored. The refrigerator/freezer should be wiped down and cleaned of any debris.

    COUNTER TOPS/SINK AREA – The sink area and all counter tops should be wiped down and free of debris.

    FLOORS – All floors are to be swept and mopped after every event. LESSEES SHOULD PROVIDE THEIR OWN CLEANING SUPPLIES. This includes brooms, mops, buckets, chemical, and additional trash bags.

     

    Bathrooms:

    TRASH – All groups are responsible for taking out their trash. All trash must be bagged and tied before putting in the dumpsters. The trash cans must be cleaned and relined. The city will provide Lessee with 1 trash bag per can. After this, YOU MUST PROVIDE THE 33-39 GALLON

    COUNTER TOPS/SINK AREA – The sink area and all counter tops should be wiped down and free of debris.

    TOILETS – Toilets should be flushed and free of all matter. Paper products left on the floor should be picked up and disposed of properly.

     

    Outdoor Areas:

    GROUNDS – The outside of the building must be cleaned. All groups are responsible for picking up cigarette butts, paper, cans, bottles and bottle caps from all areas outside and around the community center.

    TRASH – All trash bags should be tied and put into the dumpster. The lid on the dumpster should be closed so that trash does not blow around the grounds.
