    We are looking for licensed Amateur Radio Operators to run our Radio Shack (VE3 OSC)
  • The Science Centre is a space where visitors of all ages can learn through play and discover ways to think like a scientist every day. If you want to share your love of amateur radio and develop your science communication skills, volunteering at the Science Centre could be a rewarding and enriching experience!

    As an Amateur Radio Shack Volunteer, you will:

    • Help visitors explore the world of amateur radio under the guidance of licensed operators.
    • Facilitate hands-on visitor experiences using radio equipment to communicate with amateur radio operators around the world.
    • Regularly work alongside fellow volunteers (whenever possible) for a collaborative, supportive experience.

    To qualify, potential volunteers must:

    • Commit to a consistent 4-hour shift at least twice a month (weekly commitment strongly preferred
    • Possess an Amateur Radio Operator Certificate, Basic with Honours or Advanced Qualification.

  • The Amateur Radio Shack operates 6 days a week* on the following schedule:

    • Tuesday to Friday: 10 a.m.–2 p.m. (or later)
    • Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m.–2 p.m. and 15 p.m.

    *The Science Centre is only open on Mondays during our peak periods (Family Day, March Break and Summer Break We usually operate the Amateur Radio Shack on Mondays when we are open.

    Please Note that we require a commitment to a time slot. This consistency helps ensure that visitors will not miss the opportunity to experience your demonstration area.
