Massachusetts Organization of African Descendants (MOAD) is a Massachusetts incorporated organization founded by Africans residing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We define our members as Africans, documented or undocumented immigrants, refugees, African faith-based institutions, African-based/ ethnic Association leaders, businesses, and non-profit organizations, from nations in Africa living in Worcester, Worcester County & metropolitan areas. The organization’s goals and objectives are to work to promote and empower those of African descent residing in Worcester County and its scope of operation. Our mission is to empower, advocate, and foster leadership skills and responsible citizenship of members of the African community. We accomplish our mission through the following sub-committees.

The Worcester African Festival is the hard work of the Cultural Sub-committee and with support from community partners. The African Festival takes place on August 3rd, 2024 from 12pm-5pm at the Worcester Common Oval, Franklin Street, and Front Street. The African Festival aims to promote the diversity of African cultures and to unite us under one common interest of love and pride for our African heritage. The African Festival is committed to executing high quality entertaining events with an interesting assortment of merchandise vendors, African food vendors, artists, DJs, and many more. Please read and understand these policies and procedures before applying to serve as a vendor for our festival on August 3rd, 2024. As a vendor, you are expected to comply with all the vendor terms and conditions listed. Failure to comply with these policies and procedures will result in termination on the spot.
Cancellation Policy: In the event of cancellation made by the vendor, three weeks' notice must be given in advance. Refund requests are subject to consideration. In the event the decision is made to cancel the African Festival due to inclement weather, vendors will be notified via email and offered a rain date.
Marketing: The Cultural Sub-committee is planning several ways to communicate the African Festival. Strategies include multi-media marketing campaigns, social media, radio, email, print and more. In addition, all sponsors and vendors are encouraged to promote the events to their networks and communities.

(Note: For all early sponsorship submission on or before May 31st, your business/ organization logo will go on the Final Festival Flyer. All late submission will go on the festival banner or backdrop and a seperate thank-you flyer which will have the full list of our sponsors).
