  • VNE & Equi South Working Equitation Show & Clinic

    1st/2nd November 2025 - Mosgiel Show Grounds
  • CLINIC FORMAT (this is run alongside a competition so please select the clinic below).  This is designed to introduce people to WE at an amazingly low cost of $85 per rider/horse.

    SATURDAY
    Morning Introduction to Flatwork
     - Working Equitation renamed dressage to Flatwork 2 yrs ago to mark the difference in pure dressage for WE.
WE has moves that are required in or around the Ease of Handling (EOH) obstcles. Horses are not rewarded for having extravagant paces, but balance and availabilty for a task is well rewarded.

This session includes what a judge is looking for at each level, followed by a practical lesson. And riding a test for judging.
We also have demo riders available to show you some of the different levels - both Western and English riders will ride the Novice test.

Followed by EOH training and obstacles

This involves learning and practising the obstacles.  Understanding which obstacles to use to train horses for bend, balance, agility, forward and waiting. How to calm a hot horse and how to move a sluggish horse.
EOH is all about confidence and fluidity, done with relaxation and balance - there is no speed involved in this round.

We have a large area for our use, away from the main oval so it should be less dramatic for the horses to manage!

    SUNDAY

EOH and SPEED Phases (as your level allows)
Time table will depend on numbers and levels.
Demo rounds will be used to keep the arena busy.
