BRAW Collective is incredibly excited to announce we have opened a new space in Glasgow! A sister studio to our London space, you can find us in Finnieston amongst a cluster of other creative spaces in The Hidden Lane. Resultantly, we are seeking TWO new members to join us on this new journey, with a kitted out darkroom to work out of to develop your practice as we develop as a collective. If you are experienced with analogue photography, printing or alternative processes, read on.
The cost of using the space is greatly affordable compared to most other ‘day rate’ hires in Glasgow and we want to open this opportunity to a wider group of people who otherwise wouldn't be able to develop their practice.
We would also like, as we grow, the collective to be more reflective of the community we exist within. So, with these things considered, priority will be given to those who are from the global majority ethnicity, including mixed heritage, or consider themselves to be from a low income background.
To apply, you should also be:
- Able to to pay monthly rent (£150 monthly)
- Confident in using the space (You don’t have to be an expert but understanding the basics of using darkroom chemicals, safety and processes are a must.)
- Have a primarily analogue or alternative process based photographic practice
- Committed to contributing to and growing the collective
- Enthusiastic about getting involved in collaborative projects, making zines, putting in energy to pursuing group shows and funding opportunities.
- Able to attend regular meet ups and calls to discuss and organise these projects.
- Respectful and communicative with other members and neighbours
