  • Camper Code of Conduct

The Purpose of The CedarS is to give each camper an appreciation of spiritual sense and an abundance of wholesome, joyous activity. -Ruth E. Huff, Founder, 1962
  • Goal:

We want everyone to feel loved, respected, and safe at CedarS. We design cabin groups and programs to help everyone get along and have fun. Living the CedarS Song to "Think tall, think great, and think without strife" makes camp a place where everyone feels at home and where they belong. We also see camp as a place where we can focus on activities and really getting to know each other and not be distracted by phones and gadgets.

Please help us keep camp safe and fun by committing to these CedarS standards:

    1. Treat others the way I would want to be treated, and respect the rights and dignity of everyone at camp:

    • I will be kind in my words and actions and will not participate in bullying, put-downs, name-calling, fights, or pranks.
    • I will use clean and appropriate language.
    • I will respect other people's things and ask permission before touching things that are not mine.
    • I will treat everyone at camp with respect. I will not touch others' private parts or speak or act in ways that make others feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

    2. Respect counselors and staff:

    • I will strive to listen to and cooperate with my counselors with my full attention.
    • I will strive to be a reliable team player in my cabin and activities.

     3. Follow camp rules:

    • I will follow all camp rules.
    • I will follow CedarS technology policy and turn in my wi-fi devices to the office for safekeeping until the session's last day.
    • I will not bring to camp inappropriate items like weapons, pornography, vaping devices, tobacco/nicotine products, alcohol, marijuana, or recreational drugs of any kind.

Note: If campers are not able to follow this agreement, our counselors will talk with the campers involved about the reason for the standards and look for ways to correct the issue. Counselors will work with everyone involved to find solutions to problems and they will bring in the program director, Prin Representative, and the Christian Science practitioner as needed. With some issues, the camp directors may need to communicate with parents/caregivers to come up with the best solution. In extreme situations, the camp directors may need to dismiss a camper from camp. In these rare cases, the parents/caregivers of the camper are responsible for working with our office to find immediate transportation home. The parents/caregivers are responsible for early departure costs as well as remaining balances to tuition and camper store. Tuition is not reimbursed for a bunk left empty.
