  • PERSONAL INFORMATION

To help us and the local authority in monitoring equal opportunities you are asked to complete the following:

  • APPLYING FOR EARLY YEARS FUNDING

All children from the age of 2 are entitled to 15 government funded hours per week. Working parents may also be entitled to extended entitlement up to 30 hours if certain criterion is met. Before you complete this part of the form please ensure you read the Pre-School information booklet regarding Early Years Funding.

Also, please bear in mind that if you use the stretched offer in the financial year (April to March) prior to your child joining us, we will not be able to submit a claim for the full hours in the Spring term and you would therefore have to fund the shortfall privately which can be between £400 and £450. Please talk to us before your child starts if you think this might be an issue.

  • SESSION AND ATTENDANCE DETAILS

The demand for children to attend our pre-school is high and by the summer term, we’re having to turn children away. We’re therefore only offering 15 or 30 hour places with children either offered places for all mornings, all afternoons or all day. Your child wouldn’t necessarily have to attend each of the sessions but the school will be needing to claim the full 15 or 30 hours that would be allocated to them.

  • INTIMATE CARE

There are times during the early stages of schooling when your child may need some assistance with changing or help with personal care. In the event of an accident, we need your permission to help them. This could be help with changing wet or soiled clothing or cleaning them after a toileting mishap. We are happy to aid your child, but please note that without your consent you will be telephoned and asked to come and change or collect your child.

  • Password for pickup

To keep your children safe, we have a password system for pickup. Each child will have their own password, chosen by you. This means if someone we have not met before is picking up your child, you can give them the password and they can say this to us at pickup time. This helps us to ensure your child is safely going home with the correct person. If someone else, other than the usual person, is picking up please ensure you still inform us of this. The password is an extra precaution to ensure your child’s safety.

  • PERMISSIONS

The school and other organisations sometimes wish to use photos and videos of children to publicise events. Permission for your child's image to be used needs to be given before they can be included in any such publicity.

School website: The school documents events such as sports events and activities. The photos/videos never show the children in anything other than a positive light and their names do not accompany the pictures.

School Facebook page: This is a closed group with only parents/carers and staff of the school having access. Content cannot be shared from this page with any other Facebook page. It is used to publicise school events and
the rules are the same as the school website.

Recordings sent to parents: Some school events such as music concerts may be recorded and the video made available to parents. Any children not given permission to be recorded might still take part but they would not be shown on the film. Parents are asked not to share any part of these videos on social media.

External educational events eg, sports tournaments: The organisers of these sometimes wish to use photos to promote the events in their literature. They do not use the children’s names with accompanying photos

Newspapers: Occasionally the press take photos of school events. When this occurs they sometimes use children’s names to accompany the photos.

  • Tapestry and Google Classroom

In Pre-School, Reception and KS1 the staff use Tapestry to record the work and progress made by the children whilst KS2 classes use Google Classroom for the same purpose. This might include taking photos and it enables staff to share a child’s progress with the parent and carer. Each parent/carer has a unique login and they can only see photos of their own child.
