2024-2025 WSMS Cheer Program Application

Thank you for your interest in joining the

Warm Springs Middle School Cheer Program!

The mission of the WSMS Cheer Program is to create a program that enhances school culture and climate while focusing on sportsmanship, character, skill building and academic excellence. Athletes will condition, train, build relationships, perform, collaborate with the community and exist as a role model for other students on campus.

The WSMS Cheer Program will funcation as a club that practices after school and will participate in school and community events. Please reach out with any questions.

Please fill out the below application which includes the following:

-A recent photograph of yourself (upload below)

-An after school activity authorization form for tryouts (download and submit via email or in person).

-Provide and accessable link to an introduction video of yourself to include the following:

· 30 seconds maximum

· Name, current grade, current school of attendance

· Why you want to be a WSMS Cheerleader

-Review the important dates and the program pricing sheet.

Tryouts- 4/15 - 4/16 : 3:30pm-6pm, 4/17 : 2pm-3:30

WSMS cheer tryouts will be completed in the WSMS MPR.

Tryout information:

· Applicants need to submit (via email or in person) an after school activity authorization form, link below.

· Applicants need to check in before 3:30pm on Monday and Tuesday.

· Applicants will receive a tryout number each day at check in.

· Applicants will learn beginner level skills and tryout material on Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday will be the official tryout.

· Coaches will be watching applicants during the tryouts looking for positive behavior, dress code, being on time, being "coachable", etc.

· Applicants will perform a cheer, chant, jump and a dance in groups of 2-3 students in front of a panel of judges.

· Applicants will be able to leave after they perform on Wednesday. incoming 6th graders will go last (to allow time for travel). The 2024-2025 team roster by assigned # will be posted on the cheer website by end of day on the 17th.

Rostered athletes will need a full sports physical, without restrictions, prior to the first day of summer practice (Forms will be emailed home). Important information will be emailed to the student and parent email address listed on this application.
