  • Multicultural Development Student Leadership Agreement

  • Noted below is the student leadership agreement for all OMD student organizations:

    ● In order to serve on a student leadership team, a student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 AND cannot be on chapel, academic, or disciplinary probation. By signing and dating below you are stating that you meet these requirements and give permission to the Registrar’s Office and Student Development to release this information to the Office of Multicultural Development staff for verification purposes.

    ● My primary responsibility is being a student and I am expected to attend classes, chapel, and maintain a 2.5 GPA.

    ● I have taken time to thoroughly read the Wheaton College Community Covenant and the Christ-Centered Diversity Commitment. I will support and completely adhere to these commitments.

    ●  If I am placed on any type of probation, I will inform the OMD Director. I recognize that being on any type of probation during the academic year which I am serving could disqualify me from serving as a student leader.

    ●  I have read the OMD and Student Development Purpose Statements located at http://www2.wheaton.edu/Registrar/catalog/ug_student_life.htm#Student_Development. I will unite to serve within these purposes.

    ●  My commitment to serve as a student leader is for a full academic year.

    ●  There is an importance of maintaining open communication with the OMD Director. If I have areas of concern, I understand that I can obtain encouragement and resources from the OMD Director during my time of service. 

    ● My attendance is required at the OMD Spring Banquet on Friday, April 26, 2024, 6:00pm to 8:30pm. I will attend this on-campus event.

    ● I commit to attend the IGNITE reception meeting on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 (Phelps, 3:45pm to 5:15pm).

    ● The OMD Student Leadership Training is scheduled for Aug 19 through Aug 23, 2024. I will be attend this required Training. The approved student arrival is Sunday, Aug 18th from 2pm to 5pm. I will attend the OMD Student Leadership Training kick off dinner on Sunday, August 18th at 5pm.

                             
    ● If I am a cabinet president, I will establish and attend a bi-weekly meeting with the OMD Director throughout the academic year.  I also understand that I will be required to participate in OMD Presidents’ Forums (Synergy) which will be scheduled once a month throughout the academic year.

    ● To maintain a healthy balance, this specific leadership position within OMD will be my primary co-curricular commitment. If I would like to participate in other leadership positions, I must obtain approval from the OMD Director.

    ● During the academic year there will be monthly OMD IGNITE student leadership meetings. As part of a cabinet, I plan to faithfully attend these monthly Ignite meetings.

    ● Throughout the year, OMD will be hosting various campus events. I understand that I am required to help out with these events.

    I accept the responsibilities noted above and I am fully committed to uphold this standard that has been set before me.

  • Cabinet Roles & Responsibilities

  • President

    · Prepare agenda for, and lead, weekly meetings

    · Meet with Willie-O Advisor weekly for Cabinet updates

    · Meet with Vice President weekly to review meeting agenda

    · Discuss all collaborations with external cabinets/organizations (i.e. Solidarity, CVC)

    · Organize and bring collaboration ideas and requests to the cabinet

    · Maintain Cabinet productivity and optimize the skills and talents of all Cabinet members

    · Follow mission and vision throughout the school year, and hold Cabinet accountable to both

     

    Vice President/Lead Events Coordinator

    · Assist President with roles and responsibilities

    · Manage and lead meetings when President is absent

    · Meet with President weekly to discuss weekly agenda items and potential collaborations

    · Coordinate details of events – this includes, booking venues, negotiating prices, coordinating transportation, making reservations, preparing spreadsheets to track assigned duties and status

     

    Business Manager

    · Prepare meeting minutes during Cabinet meetings.

    · Maintain organization of financial materials in Google Doc folder

    · Brainstorm fundraiser ideas – will work alongside President and Vice President to develop strategy

    · Collaborate with Events Coordinators and PR Manager to execute fundraisers

    · Request OMD cash box/CloverFlex as needed for fundraisers and all sales activity

    · Receive budget reports from Office Coordinator and track all expenses and revenue.

    · Submit request for Petty Cash and reconcile P-Card transactions

     

    Publicity Manager

    · Plan, direct and coordinate activities designed to spread the word about community events and activities

    · Plan and execute media campaigns in a timely manner

    · Create posters and coordinating efforts to put them up pre-events

    · Work alongside the Business Manager to successfully publicize fundraisers

    · Coordinate with Events Managers on ways to successfully advertise events

    · Work alongside President and Vice President to create a Willie-O brand identity

     

    Assistant Events Coordinator

    · Assists Vice President/Lead Events Coordinator with executing events

    · Prepare detailed events checklist with assigned personnel, deadlines, notes

    · Manage events set-up, decorations, menu selection, order food directly or in conjunction with OMD Office Coordinator

    · Work with Cabinet to delegate event responsibilities

    · Coordinate with the Publicity Manager to successfully publicize events

    · Create JotForm or other online registration form for event RSVPs, monitor and manage

     

    Chaplain

    · Foster relationship with the Chaplain’s Office

    · Plan and execute the Black Student Union Chapel

    · Plan Church visits and collaborate with VP/Lead Events Manager to arrange transportation

    · Lead the Cabinet in prayer and devotions during weekly meetings

    · Maintain email and CPO list of all Black students, emails of faculty/staff, email or mailing addresses of alumni and provide spiritual support to both the Cabinet and Black community

     

    Brotherhood and Sisterhood Coordinators

    · Create and foster community between and within our black male and female student body

    · Plan and execute events that are geared toward responding to the needs within BH and SH respectively

    · Develop relationships and facilitate discussions that push our members towards growth in all life areas
