    Thank you for choosing Carolina Tax Xpress to assist you with your 2026 tax preparation. Our goal is to provide a smooth, stress-free filing experience. This agreement outlines the services we will provide and the respondsiblities of both parties to ensure an accurate and timely tax return.
  • OUR RESPONSIBILITIES

    Our work (whether it involves consultation or tax preparation) is based solely on the information you provide.

    • We may ask for clarification or additional documentaion to ensure accuracy.
    • We are not responsible to discover fraud or other irregularities, should any exist.
    • We will work to find all the credits and deductions you are legally entitled to.

    YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

    • It is your responsibility to provide all information required for a complete and accurate tax return.
    • To provide all information needed in a timely manner. 
    • To keep with the completed work, all documents, and records that support your income and deductions such as W2's, 1099's, receipts, bank statments, and other data that form the basis of income and deductions, as you may need to provide them to a taxing authority later.

    Please carefully review all work completed by our office before you sign. You have the final responsibility for anything submitted to a taxing authority. You are responsible to not commit fraud.

     

     

    OUR FEES

    Our fees vary based on the complexity of the return, schedules, and forms prepared. Tax preparation fees apply once preparation services begin, regardless of whether the return is filed.

     Clients may choose to pay their tax preparation fee by electronic payment or have it deducted directly from their refund when applicable. 

     Please note: Carolina Tax Xpress reserves the right to invoice for any tax preparation work started, including returns that are prepared but not filed. 

     

     

     

     

     

     

    TAX DOCUMENTS

    All clients receive one included copy of their completed tax return through the Carolina Tax Xpress client portal. If a client prefers to receive their tax return by email instead of the portal, this must be requested at the time of the appointment or prior to delivery. For your convience, returns will remain accessible in the portal until October 15th.

    Additional copies of a current year or prior year tax return are $50 per return. Please allow up to 48 hours after payment for processing.

     

    PENALTIES, EXAMINATIONS, AND NOTICES

    The IRS and state taxing authorities may assess penalties for certain offenses. These include understatement of income, filing after the deadline, underpaying estimated taxes, or under-withholding taxes. Tax authroities may also select any return for examination.

    If your return is selecyed for your examination or audit, you may be required to provide supporting documents or records to substantiate items of income, deductions, or credits reported on your return.

     

    PRIVACY POLICIES

    Tax preparers are bound by professional standards of confidentiality. Whether you are a current or former client, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the confidentiality of your personal and financial information. We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information obtained in the course of our practice except as required or permitted by law, or is necessary to properly provide our services to you.

     ARBITRATION

    In the event of any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to this engagement or the services provided, the parties agree to first attempt to resolve the matter through good-faith negoatiation.

    If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, the parties agree to submit the dispute to mediation administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Mediation Rules.

    If the dispute is not resolved through mediation, the dispute shall be resolved through binding arbitration.

     

    AGREEMENT

    The letter will serve as our agreement in this matter. You are hereby advised that each item of income or expense can be substantiated by receipts, canceled checks, or other documents. This information is true and accurate to the best of my (our) knowledge. I understand that these terms will continue to be enforced for the succeeding years of our engagement.

    **Please note that by signing this form you confirm that all information entered here is accurate and true. You allow Carolina Tax Xpress to capture your sensitive data like personal ID, Social Security Number (SSN), and other information. You have read the terms and conditions and privacy policy.

    By signing below, you acknowledge that you have read and understood your responsibilities and our responsibilities in doing this tax return.

    If your refund is offset to fulfill child support, student loans, past due IRS debts, or if your check is mailed to you, you are STILL obligated to pay the fees associated with filing your return. **

  • RUSH FEE

    We strive to have your tax return processed within 48 hours, however during peak season processing times can vary. We understand that you may require expedited services. To accommodate such request, we offer expedited processing for an additional fee of $150.00. Expedition of services is contingent upon receiving all required documents. This fee can be paid from your refund or paid upfront.

  • **You may not claim the Earned Income Tax Credit if the child has not lived with you for over half of the year, even if you have supported the child.**

  • Carolina Tax Xpress Disclaimer:

    Carolina Tax Xpress is not responsible if the taxpayer provides us with incorrect information (i.e., social security numbers for self, spouse, or dependents, last names, birth dates). This may delay your refund.

    Carolina Tax Xpress is not responsible for any IRS audits. All information obtained from the taxpayer and/or spouse must be presentable if the IRS audits your tax return.

    Consent to Use Of Tax Return Information:

    Federal law requires this consent form be provided to you (“you” refers to each taxpayer, if more than one). Unless authorized by law, we cannot disclose your tax return information to third parties for purposes other than the preparation and filing of your tax return without your consent. If you consent to the disclosure of your tax return information, Federal law may not protect your tax return information from further use or distribution.

    You are not required to complete this form to engage our tax return preparation services. If we obtain your signature on this form by conditioning our tax return preparation services on your consent, your consent will not be valid.

    If you agree to the disclosure of your tax return information, your consent is valid for the amount of time that you specify. If you do not specify the duration of your consent, your consent is valid for one year from the date of signature. 

     

    Electronic Refund Disbursement Service and/or Loan Product:

    You have indicated that you are interested in utilizing the Electronic Refund Disbursement Service and/or Loan product from Refund Advantage or Santa Barbara Trust. To provide you with the opportunity to apply for and/or receive the Electronic Refund Disbursement Service and/or Loan product, we must disclose all of your 2025 tax return information to Refund Advantage.

    You may request a more limited disclosure of tax return information, but you will not be eligible to submit an application for the Electronic Refund Disbursement Service and/or Loan product. If you would like us to disclose your 2025 tax return information to Refund Advantage for this purpose, please sign and date your consent to the disclosure of your tax return information.

    By signing below, you authorize us to disclose to the designated bank all of your 2025 tax return information so that it can evaluate and process your application for the Electronic Refund Disbursement Service and/or Loan product.

    You understand that if you are not willing to authorize us to share your tax information with our designated banks, you will not be able to obtain the Electronic Refund Disbursement Service and/or Loan product, but you can still choose to have your tax return prepared and filed by us for a fee.

    Report Improper Disclosure:

    If you believe your tax return information has been disclosed or used improperly in a manner unauthorized by law or without your permission, you may contact the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) by telephone at 1-800-366-4484, or by email at complaints@tigta.treas.gov.
