Schedule
- Complete this Application Form at least three weeks prior to the intended show start. This form is used to determine if the artist is accepted to show.
- Upon acceptance, a second form, the Payment Form will be sent to the artist who must then complete it in order to:
- Submit the remaining images of work to be in the show not submited here
- Pay the SAA fee of $100 for SAA members or $125 for SAA non-members
- Sign online the show contract
- Submit a list of any matted work
- The Payment Form must be completed three (3) weeks prior to the show start date.
- Labels: Using information provided in this Application form, the gallery will create labels for the framed artwork. For matted work, please label each piece with your name, title, size and price.
- Hanging the Show: Drop off is Thursday prior to the opening by 1 pm. The gallery will hang the show, and the artist is welcome to join, but not required.
- Artist Reception: The artist reception is at the beginning of the show. Dates and times to be determined. SAA will provide some refreshments, but the artist can contribute and is encouraged to invite their friends and family.
- Artist Talk: The artist can also give an artist talk which are a great way to communicate about your art. Artist will coordinate with the Gallery to set the time.
- Gallery Spring Hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Sunday: By Appointment
Thursday: 10 am - 4 pm
Friday: 10 am - 4 pm
Saturday: 10 am - 2 pm
- Pickup is a few days after the end of the show. Date to be determined for each show.
- Within three weeks after the show, proceeds less commission will be sent to the ARTIST.
Show Contract
The ARTIST and Sherman Artists Association, Inc ("SAA") in league with the LAND Gallery ("LEAGUE") agree to the following pertaining to "the Show".
1. Warranty
ARTIST hereby warrants that he/she solely created and possesses unencumbered title to the artwork entered into the Show ("Artworks"), that their descriptions are true and accurate, and that the ARTIST has obtained all necessary licenses, clearances, and/or permissions for the use of all material contained in the Artworks, and that the Artworks in no way contain material that infringes upon the rights of others, including but not limited to material that is an invasion of privacy or publicity rights or that is protected by copyright, trademark, or other proprietary rights, or is derivative thereto. ARTIST agrees that all images submitted may be used for publicity of the Show. ARTIST hereby agrees to indemnify and hold The LEAGUE harmless from and against any and all related claims and/or liability.
2. Display and Transportation Responsibilities
All Artworks must be delivered to the LAND Gallery, 30 Charles Colman Blvd, Pawling, NY 12564 ("Location") on Thursday prior to the opening by 1 pm.
The LAND Gallery will hang the show, and the artist is welcome to join, but not required. The LEAGUE has the final decision regarding display and placement of the Artworks.
Pickup is within a few days after the end of the show. Date to be determined for each show.
3. Responsibility for Loss or Damage
ARTIST agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the LEAGUE, its members, employees, and volunteers from and against any and all adjudicated claims and/or liability including but not limited to theft, destruction, damage or loss of any Artworks displayed or stored at The Location, and any injury to third parties arising from flaws, defects or dangerous conditions of, related to or within the Artworks.
The Artist is responsible for their insurance.
The LEAGUE does not provide insurance or compensation of any kind against fire, theft of or damages to your artwork on display at The Location.
Work not picked up after 35 days after the end of the show becomes the property of the LAND Gallery.
4. Show Duration, Contract Duration and Termination
a) The duration of this contract extends from when the ARTIST makes the entry fee payment through completion of the terms of this contract.
b) The show duration is for one month and the month will be specified in the Payment Form.
c) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Contract, this Contract may be terminated at any time by either the LEAGUE or the ARTIST, by means of written notification of termination from either party to the other.
5. Sale of ARTWORK
a) ARTIST must label the Artworks with the ARTIST'S initials and retail price, using removable stickers.
b) The LAND shall sell the Artworks only at the retail price specified by the ARTIST.
c) The commission is to be thirty percent (30%) of the retail price of the Artwork.
d) No later than the fifteenth (15th) day of the month following the show, the LAND will send the proceeds from the sale of the Artworks minus commission to the ARTIST.
e) The LAND Gallery handles all aspects of the sale of the Artworks.
f) Following the sale of any of the Artworks, any costs and liabilities related to the removal from installation(s), as well as personal supervision of such removeal from installation(s) shall be the sole responsibility of the ARTIST.
6. Entry Fee: paid upon submission of the Payment Form.
a) If the ARTIST is a member in good standing, the ARTIST agrees to pay SAA an entry fee of $100.
b) If the ARTIST is not a member in good standing, the ARTIST agrees to pay SAA an entry fee of $125.
c) If the ARTIST is not a member and wishes to become a member, the ARTIST may complete the membership form and pay its fee of $30 by clicking here. Once completed, the ARTIST can pay the $100 member entry. The entry fee and membership fee will be paid no later than three (3) weeks prior to the show start date.
