JESSICA'S RATTERY ADOPTION APPLICATION FORM.
  • 𝐉𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐂𝐀'𝐒 𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐘 & 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐔𝐄.

    𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐏𝐄𝐓 𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍.
  • While the animal(s) you might be adopting are small and do not naturally live very long, they are both amazing pets and are also greatly cared for at our rattery up until they leave for their new homes. Therefore, it is ultimately necessary for you to fill out a quick adoption application before taking any of our rats home.

This is to ensure the safety and care of the rats once they leave our rattery. Please be advised that it may take time for your new pet(s) to settle in. It is suggested that you quarantine all new animals in the home for a minimum of a week (or 10 days) before introducing them to any existing pets of the same species, as illnesses can spread fast. Plus, you'll want your new rat(s) to settle in without any added stress. Be aware that after all, they have their own little personalities and those might not show through right away if they are new and scared.

  • Please be honest in this application, as none of the answers will actually count against you or prevent you from adopting. With the number of different rats we house, lines we breed, and litters we have at a time, it's simply our little way of being able to keep track of which rat(s) goes to which home. (In case there's also a problem later that we need to fix!) We also would like to just get a feel of who you are as a pet parent!

Please also understand that if for any reason at all you find yourself being unable to care for your new pet, you are obligated to contact JESSICA'S RATTERY first before deciding to rehome the pet yourself. Generally, we will take any rats back that need to be returned, but on the off chance that we are full or cannot accept returns, it's still required that you let the rattery know first. We do not want our pet line rats to end up in a feeder bin of another breeder or worse, food for someone's snake off of Facebook or Craigslist. We understand snakes need to eat, but we sell live and frozen feeders for that reason. Pet lines are not bred for food. Their temperaments have been carefully worked on and observed.

➤ ALL RAT PUPS WILL HAVE A MANDATORY ADOPTION FEE OF $18 (rats with certain genetic makeup and desirable genes MAY be subject to a slight variation in price. depending on demand) AND WILL NOT BE ADOPTED OUT UNTIL 6-7 WEEKS OF AGE MINIMUM.

➤ MATURE ADULT RATS / OR YOUNG ADULT RATS CAN BE ADOPTED FOR $15. RATS ARE SOLD AS ADULTS / JUVENILES AFTER 9 WEEKS OF AGE.

➤ RETIRED BREEDING FEMALES WILL BE UP FOR ADOPTION FOR $12. (You must also be on the approved adopter list to qualify in order to be eligible to adopt a retired breeding female.)

This is all non-refundable unless certain circumstances occur and our rattery will need to be contacted in such a case.
