EVENT DETAILS:
Background: April is "National Heartworm Month." We are celebrating by hosting a dog walk on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 10AM- 1PM. This is not a timed race or anything like that; it's just a great way to get outside with your pups and support the shelter animals at the same time. Win-Win!
Dog Walk on the greenway: All interested participants are invited to bring their friendly pups and join us for a 2-mile walk on the beautiful trails of the Lindsay Pettus Greenway - 453 Colonial Ave, Lancaster, SC 29720. Meet at the Nature Pavillion to check-in. Food truck refreshments will be available for purchase on-site. Register using this form. All registered participants will get an event t-shirt at check-in.
Parking: Greenway visitors should use either of these two designated public parking lots: Lancaster High School Football Visitor Lot (459 Colonial Drive, Lancaster SC 29720) or Barr Street Learning Center (610 E. Meeting Street, Lancaster SC 29720).
T-Shirts: Shirts will be available for pickup at the event. Shirts can be mailed if you are out of town or can't make it to the event. If you purchase a shirt and cannot attend, we will hold it for you for one week following the event at the Lancaster County Animal Shelter (2074 Pageland Hwy., Lancaster). If you'd like your shirt shipped, please select the shirt size under the event registration area and then select shipping. Shirts will be mailed after they are printed to those who selected the shipping option.
Vendors: We will be able to have a few vendors of pet-related products at this event. The cost for vendors is $25 and includes an approx 10' space and an event t-shirt. Vendors need to bring their own tables, tents, etc. Electricity is available only at the two spots under the pavillion. We only have space for about 5 vendors near the nature pavillion.
