ENTRIES
All applications must be received by Sunday 9 June 2024. An application includes:
- this completed application form
- payment of an $11.00 entry fee (payable below)
- booking an artwork drop-off appointment. You will be automatically directed to the booking platform after you submit this form.
Note: artwork drop off commences from Monday 1 July 2024.
ELIGIBILITY
To apply, artists need to identify as having either: a personal lived mental health experience, be a family member/carer or a non-family person providing a caring role.
For artwork to be an eligible entry, it must:
- not exceed 120cm in either length or width inclusive of frame and weigh less than 5kg
- hang safely/securely and be fitted with D ring hangers and wire or picture hanging cord (polyester)
- have a reasonable sale price and not be listed as ‘not for sale’ or ‘by negotiation’
- be clean, undamaged, finished, presented to a high standard, either framed or stretched onto canvas and not have been exhibited before at a Recovered Futures Art Exhibition
- be original and not considered offensive or inappropriate, aligning with the values of the exhibition
- not be AI generated
SELECTION
All entries submitted will be presented for review and selection by the Curator and supported by the Project Manager and Exhibition Convenor. Artworks will be selected based on eligibility criteria and curatorial considerations including but not limited to concept, workmanship, originality and exhibition fit. Once the selection process has been completed, all entrants will be advised of the outcome mid to late August 2024. The selection decisions are final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
PARTICIPATION IN THE EXHIBITION
Artwork selected for the exhibition will be showcased from Friday 4 to Thursday 10 October at King George Square and then online until Sunday 20 October. Return of unsold works will occur late October to early November.
