  • Per APPOA Policy No. MAR 5.2, Marina Annual Slip Lease Agreement, Section 12.a, this self-inspection form shall be completed and submitted annually no later than June 1st, or within two weeks if the slip lease agreement is executed after June 1st.  An administrative fee may be charged for a late submission. If you plan to shelter in place during a major storm, you must also complete the Shelter in Place Form. Any slipholder without an approved Shelter in Place plan in effect when severe weather alert Code Orange is set will be required to evacuate their boat from the Marina.

  • USCG Marine Fire Extinquisher Requirements

    Fire extinguishers must be replaced 12 years after manufacture.

    These requirements went into effect April 20, 2022

    Note: A 5-B fire extinguisher is capable of putting out a class B fire (flammable liquids and gases) of 5 square feet; a 10-B extinguisher can stop 10 square feet, etc.

     

  • If you own a boat that is model year 2018 or newer, you may need to replace your fire extinguishers:

    In addition to meeting the carriage requirements for the correct number of extinguishers for the size of your boat, they must be labeled as 5-B, 10-B or 20-B; extinguishers labeled with B-I or B-II only are no longer acceptable.
    Extinguishers must not be more than 12 years old according to the date of manufacture stamped on the bottle
    A serviceable fire extinguisher must meet the following:
    -          If the extinguisher has a pressure gauge reading or indicator it must be in the operable range or position

    -          The lock pin is firmly in place

    -          The discharge nozzle is clean and free of obstruction

    -          The extinguisher does not show visible signs of significant corrosion or damage.

    If you own a boat that is 2017 model year or older (between 1953-2017):
    You may keep your extinguishers labeled B-I and B-II as long as they are still serviceable, but if there is a date stamped on the bottle, it must not be more than 12 years old.

  • Mooring Lines recommendations at AP

    under 30 feet use 1/2" line
    30 feet to 40 feet use 5/8" line
    40 feet to 70 feet use 3/4" line
    70 feet to 90 feet use 7/8" line
    90 feet to 110 feet use 1" line


    As a general rule, the length of bow and stern lines should equal two-thirds of your boat's overall length. Spring lines should be slightly longer, approximately the same length as your boat.  Unless your boat is unusually heavy or will be subjected to severe conditions, a bow line, stern line, and two spring lines are recommended. If your permanent slip has outboard pilings as well, you will need an additional bow and stern line.

  • Important consideration in determining whether you will Shelter In Place!  

    If you indicate that you will shelter in place, you have the option to evacuate.But if you indicate you will NOT shelter in place, you will be  required to evacuate in a code Orange.  You cannot change from evacuate to shelter in place after June 1st.

  • SHELTER IN PLACE

  • If you elect update your mooring line configuration, you must fill out a completely new configuration.  You can copy from the read only configuration above if you wish.

  • If you are filling this out with a pen on a paper form, you MUST include a sketch of you mooring plan or describe in detail what your mooring plan is in the "Describe what additional actions" section below.  Use additional pages as needed.

    A forward spring line is tied to the dock forward of where it is tied to the boat; it stops the boat from moving aft. An aft spring line stops the boat from moving forward, and it's tied to a point on the dock aft of where the line is attached to the boat.
