These rules apply to ALL COACHES/HANDLERS AND ATHLETES.
-Coaching will be limited to one (1) coach per unequipped lifter and two (2) coaches per equipped lifter. No exceptions.
-Warm Up Area is only for lifters and their coach(es).
-Coaches and handlers must wear athletic apparel, including athletic attire, close-toed athletic shoes while coaching or handling athletes. Hats, sleeveless tops, and any attire that is unclean, torn or is in any way deemed to be inappropriate by CPU officials are strictly forbidden.
-All athletes must register their coaches/handlers by February 12th, 2024. If the athlete’s coach/handler is not registered in time, they will not be permitted in the warm-up area.
-Coaches/handlers must check in at the Athlete check in to receive their wristband.
-Coloured wristbands will correspond with the day and session that coaches/handlers are registered for.
-Access to the warm-up area is restricted to athletes lifting on that day/session and coaches/handlers that have an appropriate wristband corresponding to the day and session that they are registered for.
-Coaches/handlers shall remain within the designated coaching area as defined by the Jury or Technical Controller in charge. The coaching area will be made in such a way that allows the coach/handler to place themself with a good view of the lifter with the possibility to give instructions and signals to the lifter regarding technical details (e.g. depth in squat).
-If a coach/handler wishes to dispute a call made by the referees they will inform the Technical Controller and will be escorted to the jury table.
-If a coach/handler wishes to have the bar cleaned during deadlifts, this request must be made to the Technical Controller and not to the platform crew.
-Coaches/handlers are not permitted to cross from the warm-up area to the spectator area via access to the platform.
-Coaches/handlers are responsible for the athletes' use of collars in the warm up area.
-All coaches/handlers will refrain from any behavior that constitutes harassment toward anyone during the competition or at the competition venue. The Meet Directors reserve the right to remove any coach/handler who violates this.
