  • Second skin instructions:

    Within 1-5 days
  • -Keep the skin on for 4/5 days no longer than 5

-Blood and ink are normal! This should be left alone. This is just built up plasma, blood and ink.

-Its not fully water proof- please keep the this as dry as possible, if you get water inside, please remove the skin as it can create a bacteria pool.

-When removing the skin, grab the top corner and pull it up or grab the bottom corner aand pull it downwards. You can do this in the bath/shower to make this part easier.
Do not just try and rip it off as it can be too harsh on your tattoo.

  • If it comes off before this, or starts to roll up, or the tattoo is exposed in anyway, follow the next lot of instructions on the next page.

If it rolls up and it is not exposed, pull it slightly and give it a trim with clean scissors.
  • Reactions

What to do if you have a reaction to second skin
  • If you feel like you are having a reaction to the second skin please do the following:

    1. Notify me that this has happened

    2. Remove the skin safely and wash it with anything antibacterial and nothing with a heavy scent in.

    3. Leave to dry for a day after washing so nothing can irritate this more.

    4. Clean the next morning then moisturise as normal (if the reaction has calmed down)

  • After the skin comes off:

  • -Wash the tattoo with clean hands, you can use any soap without a fragrance (nothing with alcohol in). The best things to use are dove, Nivea or carex.

-If you still have sticky residue from the second skin, please use some baby, coconut oil or palmers oil to remove it. Only use it around your tattoo not on it. If it is sticky on it, please ensure you fully wash it off.

-Pat dry with a disposable tissue or let dry, then apply a thin layer of moisturiser (ones recommended in the precare advise) (palmers cocoa butter).

    - When using the moisturiser, please use lightly until matte. You can overcream the tattoo which will sweat the ink out, so make sure you're using it lightly.

-Don't recover the tattoo with cling film as it will sweat the tattoo which causes the ink to drop out.

  • If I’ve used cling film

  • -Take the cling film off within an hour.

*if you are wearing something tight or fluffy, leave it on until the evening.

-Wash it with warm water and a tiny bit of soap and leave it dry (or use kitchen roll and dab it dry).

-Keep it clean and don't moisturise it for 2-3 days.

-After these days have passed, put the tiniest bit of moisturiser on, once in the morning and once at night- do not over cream it as it will stunt the healing of the tattoo making the lines break up.

  • Extra tips

  • -Do not go swimming within 1 week after the tattoo as it will dry out the scabs as and cause them to fall off prematurely. If you can avoid prolonged water for at least 3 weeks.

-Do not pick any scabs off the tattoo as it will pull the ink out.

-Do not use any thick creams, such as Vaseline, E45 or Bepanthem, these creams are massively heavy so for finer lines will clog up your tattoo bit allowing it to breathe. Please only use the cream which I have suggested or ask me before using a new one.

    - Keep it as dry as possible while healing as the scabs will be forming.

    - Avoid heavy exercise while healing, avoid sweating as moisture doesn't allow a tattoo to heal well.

    - Avoid the sun and fake tanning products for 1-2 weeks while healing, it would be even better if you can avoid it for 4 weeks.

-Once healed, use factor 50 on all tattoos as it will keep them looking newer for longer.

Touch ups do occur a cost on certain areas, this is to cover the cost of disposables. Please ensure you look after them with the best of your ability.

Fineline tattoos may require a touch up due to there being less pigment and a finer needle, it's never a 100% chance of healing correctly first because of this. The finer we go, the worse it may heal, especially in certain areas.

I will tell you beforehand if there is no charge as sometimes I go lighter over scars, stretch marks, etc.

Any problems or questions, please let me know to avoid anything happening.

  • Fingers, hands, necks and ears aftercare

  • -When you get home wash the tattoo, you can use any soap without a fragrance (nothing with alcohol in). The best things to use are dove, Nivea or carex.

-Pat dry with a disposable tissue or let dry, let it dry overnight.

-In the morning, repeat these steps then leave to dry out for a few days. Less is more with these places. Over creaming is the worst thing for these placements.

-Itching may occur, please do not scratch or pick as this can cause drop out or blurring.

-After a few days, apply a thin layer of moisturiser (palmers cocoa butter).

    - When using the moisturiser, please use lightly until matte. You can overcream the tattoo which will sweat the ink out, so make sure you're using it lightly.

-Don't recover the tattoo with cling film as it will sweat the tattoo which causes the ink to drop out.

-Keep the tattoo as dry as you can while the scab/s are still there.

-Avoid using gloves or hand sanitizer as these will draw the ink out.

-When washing hair, make sure you wash all of the product off properly as any product may cause a reaction/ an infection.

-Please avoid water and chemicals, you want your tattoo to be healed before you have long water exposure.
