Northwest La Communty Tennis Association in partnership with Bossier, Southern Hills, and Natchitoches Tennis Centers will offer USTA Middle School Team Leagues again this Fall!

• For 2026 MSL there will be 1 League in Shreveport/Bossier.
• Your child must attend the school they are playing for OR if you are a homeschool student or your school does not have enough to form a team there will be  "Parish Teams" made.
  • You must play on your schools team if they have one
  • If you wish to play on a Parish team that you do not live in, this must be approved by the local coordinator.
  • There is NO limit on number of teams any parish or school may have.
• There is a consideration for upper level 5th graders feeding into that middle school to be allowed to participate as well.
  • A signed waiver by a Tennis Pro is required.
• The Middle School League will be for Green and Yellow Ball players.
  • Yellow Ball Teams is for players with some experience and they must have played some type of junior league/tournaments before, have court and scoring knowledge, and understand the basic rules of tennis.
  • Green Ball is designed for new players but they should have taken some kind of junior development or played in beginner Level 7/Jr Circuit tournaments, and/or be familiar with the most basic rules and scoring, where to stand, etc., before season begins.
    • Green Ball will have a WTN #40-30. 
    • For those that have never played and are brand new to tennis each facility will offer beginner junior development classes which should give them enough knowledge to play Junior Team Tennis in the spring.
• Local Play will consist of two play formats:
  • 2/2 Format - 1 boys singles court, 1 girls singles court, and 1 mixed doubles court.
    • A MINIMUM of 3 boys/3 Girls are required for this format
  • CoEd Format - 2 singles courts and 1 doubles court.
    • A MINIMUM of 6 players are required for this format

• Yellow Ball YB - Mondays - 4:30 to 5pm is warm up, drills and strategy and 5-6pm matches

• Green Ball GB - Tuesdays - 4:30 to 5pm is warm up, drills and strategy and 5-6pm matches (monitor on court)

  Players can miss the 4:30-5pm but must be present at 5pm for the match

  ·         Parent Meeting week of 9/8, date/time TBD                               

  ·         6-week Season will begin 9/14, 9/21, 9/28, (10/5 fall break SKIP for public and most private schools) 10/12 (skip for private schools if applicable)  10/19, 10/26

  ·         November-IF needed for rainouts but all will be completed before Thanksgiving

• Each player MUST play 1x to qualify to go to state. (Defaults will NOT count)
• Local MS League will be held each fall with the state playoffs being held the following May, location TBD, where the top 2 teams will be invited to attend.
• The League will primarily play out of Southern Hills with some at Querbes Tennis Center.
• UPDATED and detailed Rules and Regulations will come out with registration each Fall before the League begins.

Tennis brings kids together for local match play with other junior players with the same skill level.  Team Tennis promotes social skills and important values by fostering the spirit of cooperation and unity, as well as individual self-growth. 

MSL League Fee is $50.00 and will be payable either to your school and they will regsiter the team in Tennis Link OR your parent/coach will give you a team # to regsiter in Tennis Link.  Each participant MUST have a USTA # to regsiter.

Waiver of Responsibility & Media Release

I understand the normal risks from playing tennis and hereby release the hosting facility, the professionals and any person involved from any responsibility for any damages, losses or injuries sustained in conjunction with this program for my child.

1.I hereby waive, release and forever discharge USTA, LTA, NWLA-CTA, and the participating facilities, their officials, instructors, employees, agents and support personnel from any loss, cost, or expense, claims or demands of any and every kind which I may now have, may acquire while participating in the "junior tennis" tennis program, or may hereafter have for any and all damages, losses, injuries, cost or expense which may be suffered or sustained by me in connection with participation in the “junior tennis” program AND/OR EXPOSURE TO INFECTIOUS SYNDROMES OR DISEASES TO THE PERSON OR PROPERTY OR RESULTING IN ILLNESS AND/OR DEATH OF THE UNDERSIGNED ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE EVENT(S), WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE. BY PARTICIPATING OR ATTENDING THIS EVENT YOU ASSUME ALL RISKS WHETHER KNOWN OR UNKNOWN for you and your child.

2. HEREBY AGREES TO INDEMNIFY AND SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS the Releasees and each of them FROM ANY LOSS, LIABILITY, DAMAGE, OR COST they may incur arising out of or related to the EVENT(S) WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or otherwise.
3. HEREBY acknowledges that THE ACTIVITIES OF THE EVENT(S) MAY BE DANGEROUS and involve the risk of exposure to infectious syndromes and diseases, serious illness, injury and/or death and/or property damage and he/she ASSUMES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR
ANY RISK WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO BODILY INJURY, EXPOSURE, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE arising out of or related to the EVENT(S) whether caused by the NEGLIGENCE OF RELEASEES or otherwise.
4. HEREBY grants to the Releasees (and grants to the Releasees the right to grant to others), as well as their successors and assigns, in perpetuity, the irrevocable right (but not the obligation), with or without my knowledge, to film, tape, photograph, record, exhibit, edit, alter, copy, reproduce, license, sell, rent, disclose, display, publish, distribute, broadcast, webcast, prepare derivative works from or otherwise preserve, use and/or exploit in any format and/or manner now known or hereafter developed, whether  commercial or non-commercial in nature (collectively, the “Use and Materials”): (1) my appearance at and/or participation in the Event; (2) my name, likeness, signature, voice, singing voice, conversation, sounds, biographical data, testimonials, and/or any other information or material secured by the Releasees in connection with my appearance at and/or participation in the Event. I agree that Releasees shall have the right to the Use and Materials, for their own account, throughout the universe and in perpetuity. I acknowledge and agree that I shall not be entitled to receive any compensation whatsoever n connection with the Releasees’ exercise of its Use and Materials rights.

5.If I or my child participates in a Tennis program, I authorize my registration information can be shared with NWLA-CTA and for them to be entered into USTA Tennis Link, USTA Serve Tennis database for data, participation or grant purposes.  

I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF ALL RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND HAVE SIGNED IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY NDUCEMENT, ASSURANCE OR GUARANTEE BEING MADE TO ME AND INTEND MY SIGNATURE TO BE A COMPLETE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY TO THE GREATEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW.
