2024 Auxiliary Member Audition Information
The Southside Colorguard and Crimsonette Danceline portray beauty, class, elegance, and excellence in everything they do! Only positive, hardworking, and dedicated young ladies should consider auditioning.
Eligibility
Any female, grade 9-12 (upcoming school year) who is registered as a year-round instrumental member of the Southside Band, and who has taken at least two years of band at RMS is eligible to audition for the auxiliary sections. Students without two years of middle school band may join the high school band and be considered eligible after participating for one year.
*Applicants must be in good standing with the Southside HS faculty and be up to date on all band fees from the 2023-2024 school year.
Audition Process
1. Complete the Audition Sign Up Form (online) & pay the $60 fee by March 7, 2024. ***$10 is a non-refundable audition fee, $50 is a uniform deposit which will be refunded to any student not selected.
2. Attend clinic to learn the necessary skills, techniques, and routines that will be assessed
3. Participate in the audition
*A reminder, that membership in The PRIDE of Southside is open to any dedicated and hardworking student. There is always a place for those who give their best!
Dates
All clinics will be held at the HS Band Room from 3:15 to 5:00 pm. Auditions will begin as soon as possible after school once our judges arrive. Auditions are closed to the public.

Costs
There is a membership fee ($100) for all auxiliary band members; however, auxiliary members can expect additional expenses for uniforms (typically $180) and equipment. All members are encouraged to participate in fundraising efforts; financial hardships should be made known to the directors privately.
***Please note that while fundraising monies can be used for membership fees, Alabama State law prevents using fundraising credit for anything that the student keeps (e.g., auxiliary uniforms, tee shirts, etc.)
