2024 SC YMCA Youth in Government Justice and Presiding Judge Application
Thank you for applying to be a 2024 SC YMCA Youth in Government Justice or Presiding Judge for Mock Trial!
Previous experience on the judicial side of the conference is required to be a justice or presiding judge. You will be required to attend a training in late October 2024. Justices serve in the Appeals Court and will hear and participate in the oral arguments of the moot court/appeals case argued by appeals attorney teams. One Chief Justice and one Senior Associate Justice will be selected along with 5-7 Associate Justices. Presiding Judges will serve in mock trial cases. Presiding judges will preside over trials, rule on objections, and manage the trials. Previous mock trial experience is strongly encouraged for a Presiding Judge position.
