Kimball Jenkins hosts eight weeks of summer camp in the arts and history on our campus at 266 N. Main St. Concord, NH. We welcome approximately 500 campers each year to have fun outdoors, engage in hands on projects, and learn new skills.
Leader in Trainings (LIT's) are ages 13-17 and assist Lead Counselors in the daily task of guiding campers through activities. This may include, gathering supplies, setting up field games, taking their group on a campus walk, running games, assisting in projects demonstrations, cleaning up after projects, organizing supply closet, and more. LIT's will be required to bring a non-refrigerated lunch and water bottle everyday. If an LIT arrives without those things we may contact parents to bring the items needed.
We ask that LIT's who want to leave for lunch have parents email the week prior giving them permission to leave the grounds. If they get this permission, and it is approved by the director, they will have 30 minutes of lunch off campus.
It is preferred that LITs have attended at least one week of KJ summer camp as a camper before becoming a LIT, although not absolutely necessary. We look for LITs who have an interest in the arts, history or working with children.
This is a VOLUNTEER unpaid position. Letters of recommendation will be provided for those who request it. This form requires both the LIT applicant and parent/guardian to sign.
We have limited space available for LIT's this year. Please include additional weeks you would be available in the case that a space may become available in the comments section at the end of the form.
Staff at Kimball Jenkins will be in touch with applicants within 4 weeks of application submission.
