Distinguished Leadership Award Nomination Form

Please use this form to submit your nominations for the annual Distinguished Leadership Awards (submit a separate entry for each nominee). The deadline for submission of all materials (including upload of PDF) is October 4, 2026, by 11:59 pm CT.
Eligibility

Individuals who have served at least 3 years in significant leadership roles in the field of Kinesiology, at an AKA-Member Institution, and to the AKA are eligible for this award. Current AKA Executive Committee Members are not eligible to apply for this award.
Criteria

The selection committee will consider many criteria to determine the winners, such as:
- Built innovative curricula to strengthen the undergraduate core of Kinesiology
- Expanded faculty and student research productivity focused on physical activity
- Established partnerships and outreach activities
- Achieved success in obtaining new or renovated facilities for teaching and research
- Inspired others to achieve at a high level
- Made significant changes that enhanced the effectiveness and efficiencies of programs and services
- Involvement in the AKA
