Daycare Programs
Welcome to our new childcare programs! We are proud to offer full daycare services for families in Cochrane that focus on fostering development through a nurturing and enriched care environment.

Our daycare programs are designed for children 12 months of age to 5 years old, with full-time and part-time options available.

Flexible drop-off and pick-up schedules are also available between the times of 7:00 am and 5:30 pm.

Please note that our facility does not offer meals or snacks and asks families to provide food for their children.

Fee Structure

Daycare Families: As of April 1st 2025 the Government of Alberta is establishing a flat monthly parent fee of $326.25 per month for full-time care, and $230.00 per month for part-time care, equivalent to $15 per day.

Preschool Half-Day Families: As of April 1st 2025 the Government of Alberta is providing Preschool families with a 100$ discount of tuition which will be automatically applied to your child's fees.

The Government of Alberta has closed subsidy services for families starting April 1st 2025.

Please note tuition is subject to change based on government desicions. Small But Mighty Childcare Foundation does not have control on price changes as a result of government funding changes.*

For full-time daycare, with a schedule of attendance either Monday - Friday OR M/W/F full-days, our monthly fees will be as follows:

- For infants 12 months to 5 years: Our fees will be a flat rate of $326.25 per month.



For part-time daycare, with a schedule of attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays:

- For infants 12 months to 5 years: Our fees will be a flat rate of $230/month.

Half-Day Preschool Programs
As we move into the 2025/2026 school year, we look forward to continuing to offer our half-day preschool programs with morning and afternoon options 😊 As in previous years, our preschool programs will run throughout the school year from September - mid June.

We will be extending the length of our classes by 15 minutes to ensure that each class has the opportunity to make use of the outdoor space. As such, our morning classes will begin at 8:30 and end at 11:45 am and our afternoon classes will begin at 12:30 and end at 3:45 pm. Please note that our classes will continue to have flexible drop-off and pick-up windows to accomodate for a variety of schedules.

All preschool students must be 3 by September to enroll in a preschool program. 3 year olds are also welcome to join our program in January, provided there is space. Thank you in advance!

Program Details

For the 2024/2025 school year, we will be offering three program selections:

- Morning Jr. Kindergarten Program: Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Designed for children ages 4-5 who will be entering kindergarten in the fall of September 2026.
- Morning Little Learners Preschool Program: Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Designed for children ages 3-4.
- Afternoon Learners and Leaders Preschool Program: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Designed as a multi-age program for preschoolers ages 3-5 Parents can select 1-4 afternoons per week to send their child in accordance with their schedule.

Please note that a copy of this calendar will be made available on our website, and sent to families upon official registration.

Fee Structure

For our preschool, our monthly rates will be as follows:

- $110 per child for 1 half day/ week

- $215 per child for 2 half days/ week

- $280 per child for 3 half days/ week

- $370 per child for 4 half days/ week

- $485 per child for 5 half days/ week

All registered preschool families will automatically receive an affordability grant payment of $100/ month to deduct from their fees.

Our centre is in partnerhsip with a local Early Childhood Service to provide therapy supports for children and families who qualify and are enrolled for PUF (Program Unit) or M/M (Mild/Moderate) provincal Funding. Our registered families will be provided information on our partnership with It Takes a Village Early Childhood Services, and will be invited to our optional information and screening sessions if your child is 2 years 8 months by September 1st.

Please Note About Our Waitlist:

We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support from our community, which has resulted in a high volume of interest and a longer waitlist across all age groups. Our waitlist form is ongoing and automatically organizes submissions in the order they are received. While we do our best to offer spaces based on submission date, some exceptions may be made to support the needs of our non-profit centre and maintain balanced enrolment. Due to limited availability, we kindly ask that families do not rely on our centre as a guaranteed source of care. Unfortunately, even if you apply several months ahead of your preferred start date, we cannot ensure a space will become available. We will reach out directly only if a space opens up for your child. We are unable to provide regular updates on waitlist status, as the timing of availability is unpredictable.
